Thousands of words will be written about Sinead OâConnor and how talented she was and how hard she worked and how beloved she was and how often the world failed her and how weâre less for having lost her.
All of that is true.
I have just three words to offer:
She was right.
ALT Sinead OâConnor on Saturday Night Live in 1992, tearing a photo of the then Pope to protest against sexual abuse of children in the Roman Catholic Church. It was another nine years before John Paul II publicly acknowledged the problem in any way. She was repeatedly vilified for this. She wasnât fucking wrong, was she.
