Still just a leak, not an Anthropic announcement. Official lineup is still Fable 5.1 and Opus 5. If 5.5 actually ships at Fable-level quality and half the price, that would be the useful model. Watching.

Opus 5 was slow, lazy, and fell behind the entire frontier. It became unusable.
Fable 5.1 is incredible and dies in 30 minutes on a $200 Max plan.
Today we finally get a Claude model that is smart enough to build with AND affordable enough to actually use.

Vercel’s new API sends state in and returns typed boolean, choice or score outputs. For agent decisions, that beats asking a chatbot to write JSON and hoping the parser survives.
