Iran has cottoned onto the success of the airport-targeting strategy. It's symbolically & logistically powerful - much more so than hitting unseen military targets (which, according to a Reuters special report, the Gulf States have intentionally downplayed) 1/2

A devastating strike on a military site will be covered up and get a few speculative mentions in the news Blowing up a civil airport guarantees instant 24/7 broadcast coverage around the globe, as well as directly impacting (but generally not harming) civilian populations 2/2

(I am not denying the human cost and the inevitability of some civilian deaths. However, there's a distinction between deliberately targeting civilians and broadcasting evacuation notices before bombing largely empty sites. This is war, after all)

$105 a barrel today Will very likely approach $150 before Christmas, testing & perhaps breaking the 2008 all-time-high Western govts will blame Iran for the ensuing economic meltdown Pure gaslighting. The West created this situation & it will pay the price
⚡️BREAKING: Iran has released Footage showing a Third Supertanker engulfed in Flames near the Strait of Hormuz In the span of two days, Iran has Hit Three Supertankers, removing 6 Million Barrels from the Global Market

The newsroom completely abandoning coverage of a catastrophic 70-foot sinkhole just to interrogate why a supermodel is married to an unemployed puppeteer named Matt Shatt is legendary comedy writing. Every single reveal makes it worse: he drives her Kia Sportage, wears Crocs with tube socks, she hyphenated the Kennedy name to put a Shatt on it, and the anchors are genuinely offended on live television. Kenan Thompson yelling “HE DOES PUPPETS?!” might be the hardest I’ve laughed at a sketch in years

Trump repeatedly told the world he'd already won his war on Iran & its allies. Lies work in the short-term This week - in the skies and on the seas - Iran gave the world a masterclass in humility & substance Secret weapons, secret capabilities, a path to long-term victory 🇮🇷
⚡️JUST IN: Iran has released Footage of another Oil Tanker being set in Flames while Drones monitor the vessel The tanker violated the Iranian blockade of the Strait of Hormuz This appears to be an entirely new method of targeting oil tankers

💯 Seemed obvious days ago. Now utterly indisputable. Every day they keep that airspace open, the probability of a mass-casualty shootdown rises It will not be intentional. It will be accidental / mistaken identity. As it was for MH17, PS752 & J28243
SAUDI AIRPORTS ANALYSIS: It is absolutely insane and reckless for MBS to continue operating Saudi airports at this time. Just in the past two weeks, we have seen (at least) strikes on airports in Riyadh (3x), Abha, Dammam, Khamis Mushait, Najran, and Jizan. There have also been consistent air space shutdowns at various other Saudi airports practically non-stop for the last two weeks. We’re seeing not just a TOTAL inability for Saudi Arabia to defend against Ansar Allah (Houthi) attacks, but an astonishing ABILITY for Ansar Allah to strike almost anywhere in The Kingdom at will. From Jeddah on the far West, to Dammam in the far East, to the capital city of Riyadh… Ansar Allah is striking WHAT they want, WHEN they want. You can argue all you want about whether or not it is “right” for Ansar Allah to be striking airports, but what is IRREFUTABLE is that they ARE, and Saudi cannot do a damn thing to stop it. Shut. Down. The. Airports!

Saudi was clearly taken by surprise about the Houthis' capabilities - the kingdom doesn't even know what missiles are being used. Both inbound & defensive projectiles pose a danger to civil aircraft, and emergency changes to flightpaths increase the risk of pilot or ATC error
