Happy National Aviation Day! ✈️ Today, we celebrate an industry that has transformed how we travel, connect, and move people and goods around the world. It’s hard to overstate how far we’ve come since Orville and Wilbur Wright’s first flight in 1903 — and there’s still more to come. From commercial aviation to sustainable aviation fuel, the U.S. aerospace industry continues to advance the technologies that keep America at the forefront of a global market. Fun fact: National Aviation Day also marks Orville Wright’s birthday.

Neighborhood taverns (that attract the whole city) - so hot right now. La Merna (2153 P St NW) feels like a modern Midwestern supper club slinging thin and crisp tavern pies, a towering, addictive fennel salad, and delicious Italian-inspired cocktails in a cozy, well-lit space.
