I discussed my book Nelson Rockefeller's Dilemma with Sam Roberts on his show NYT CloseUp. It was a real treat to discuss Rockefeller with a journalist who reported extensively on the former NY Governor and Vice President.
It isn't the popular convention for discussion at the moment (1968 DNC), but I wrote an article that highlights Nelson Rockefeller and moderate Republicans at the 1964 RNC. 60 years ago this week.

Highly recommend reading this article. It is a very good read and covers the challenges of being a moderate/liberal R (and unintentionally explains why I’m hesitant to frequently refer to myself as a “Rockefeller Republican”).
I'm happy to share my Open Access article, "Defining Rockefeller Republicanism: Promise and Peril at the Edge of the Liberal Consensus, 1958–1975," published in the Journal of Policy History. bit.ly/3nM9JLR
