Please could you share this opportunity to take part in research that aims to make UK bereavement support more equitable? Thank you 🙏 @JeffreyAmber @BlackInMH @NDodzro @ubeleinitiative @CovidMemorialUK @BAMEMentalHS @cahn_uk @GoodGriefFest
1/ People from the Black Caribbean community are under-represented in our recruitment. It's important that their experiences are included in our research so that bereavement services are developed to meet their needs too.

There is an NHS Wales policy for this now in response to the pandemic and based on pilot study results. Uptake is variable but certainly is happening in some areas. Study results can be found here journalslibrary.nihr.ac.uk/h…

Future work regarding the intervention will focus on understanding the context of UK areas where this has been adopted, ascertaining wider public views and exploring health-care professional views on burden and risk in the NHS context. #NIHRresearch #PalliativeCare
CARiAD pilot trial results now available - overwhelmingly positive feedback from carers, but difficulties retaining control group participants make success of a future trial uncertain. #pallimed #eolc #nihrresearch journalslibrary.nihr.ac.uk/h…

Great to see this being discussed, and lots to consider. Our pilot study informed NHS Wales policy & looked at many of the issues outlined here. Careful consideration on patient/carer suitability was key in ensuring the overwhelmingly positive feedback we observed.
