Anyhow, I've been ramping down here for the past month, and ramping up there. That trend will continue. It's nice having a feed that's mostly people I follow again.

X is now a regime propaganda platform. Stop posting here, stop engaging here, and get your organizations off here. Especially if you're in Canada or anywhere else in the world being targeted by the nazis and fellow travelers who are trying to destroy the US

If you’ve been sticking to this site because you think the other one doesn’t have enough unhinged content, you really should reconsider

I'd really planned on making this a 10+ post thread on all the really terrible experience-ruining parts of nu-twitter, but honestly in the 2 months since I've moved full time to the other place, I no longer feel simmering rage about it! Anyway, you should come too.

Twitter was great It became basically a public utility! But it's not a public utility. I can't trust the guy in charge.

I'm very excited about Ford's Robert Moses style plan to expropriate land and build parallel bike highways to Yonge, Bloor, and Eglinton. Secondary routes don't currently exist, so I assume this is his plan.
Bike lanes belong on secondary streets, not clogging traffic on main roads. It’s time to get you moving again.

Did my part and submitted a comment against the Bike Lane Ban ero.ontario.ca/notice/019-92… Not that the conservatives aren't going to pass this thing no matter what...

So many people look at Finch West LRT, and *assume* it will be like Spadina or St Clair streetcars. The difference is going to be night and day.
Its still amusing to me how confidently many in Toronto talk about "LRT" and what it will be like while Toronto still has yet to have any "LRT". (Except for the retconned Spadina and Queens Quay Lines)

Eglinton Crosstown would have opened 6 years and 4 months ago if Doug Ford took transit
Wait a minute... is Doug Ford abusing the powers of the Provincial government to... speed up his drive to work?? #onpoli

I think we've found the new name for amalgamated Kitchener-Waterloo
-got off a delayed line 1 train, missed bramalea-bound GO train by 1 min -got on GO bus to square one instead -missed connecting GO bus to UW because of 15-min traffic delay -waited 35 min at square one for the next bus i left home at 10am, when will i reach kitchenloo πŸ’€

My grandfather and uncle have lived in The Annex since the 50s. They will wax rhapsodic about how great and easy it was to drive around downtown back in the 70s-90s. They fight tooth and nail for the "neighbourhood character" while also complaining about every tower going up.
This. Toronto feels like a place with the potential to be a great world city if it can get over the influence of the β€œold guard” that still sees itself as living in a small village where everyone has a big house/yard and drives everywhere.

They claimed traffic congestion was caused by trains, street cars, wide sidewalks, urban neighborhoods... So we destroyed all those things to "solve traffic", yet traffic is worse than ever. Now they're blaming bike lanes? It has always just been cars - cars cause congestion.

If Doug Ford is making bike lakes on existing pavement illegal (i.e. the cheapest kind of bike lanes) then he must be opening up the provincial purse for off-road bike infra, right? ...right?

Fun fact: tons of roads are built with car lanes that are much wider than technically required! Let's start the repainting.

I do not support limiting city powers. It’s always better when we work together to get things right. To tackle congestion and keep people safe on city roads we need all types of transportation. The Province should focus on their job of finally getting the Eglinton Crosstown and Finch West LRTs open, which will have a huge impact on congestion in our city.
