he does not have access to the same models as freely as you are Tim, that is why he does not see what the even current best models capable of achieving without thinking about maxxing your quota or being worried about those insane API pricings.

This is bullshit, Kenney. I’m the same tech tree following optimist who moved from C to C++, from 2D to 3D, and from closed source to open source. I run a company. I write code. I contribute to published papers. I’ve upped my expectations of AI. Up yours!

the only current problem is that tokens are not democratized yet. Masses can not access to the best models
When I was writing Unreal Engine 1, my time was divided as follows: - Around 30% went to seriously deep coding on hard problems: assembly language texture mappers, C++ BSP trees, data persistence, object oriented systems design, and networking. - Around 70% was just typing and refactoring large bodies of code needed for a complete engine feature set. This was not hard, and while I was doing it my mind was mostly on the deeper coding topics, thinking and planning for what's next. It didn't feel much different from vibe coding today, except that it was just me typing code on an IBM Model M keyboard rather than prompting it and reviewing the results. So, it has always seemed perfectly logical that we would rely on AI for that 70%, once the AI could do it with a similar quality standard as we could, which has never been perfection. It came as no surprise that, after a few years of AI model evolution, it was able to take the reigns on that 70% and free up programmers' time for more valuable tasks. What's more of a surprise is the emergence of AI as a sort of insta-Carmack able to solve hard technical problems quite cleverly and often cleanly, and that it's able to reason about and work in complex 3D scenes both by operating the tools and by directly understanding the raw data files. I abandoned assembly language in 1998 when out-of-order CPUs made much simpler C/C++ code faster, and never I missed it. If prompting through architectural documents, concept art, and design plans can transcend typing code and tweaking vertices, that will enable developers to spend their time on higher-level, higher value technical and creative tasks. What matters is the end product, whether it's a game or an engine. Anything developers can do to try out more ideas and make better software and games faster is a win for everyone.

big if true
Ahem. Anthropic is worth the exact amount of zero ($0.00) dollars. Anthropic is a money furnace with $412 BILLION in financial commitments it cannot cancel. Its only product is a commodity—a search engine for human data purloined through stolen content. This is now replicated by thousands of companies. There are zero pathways beyond nationalization that save Anthropic long-term. Its entire valuation is based on marketing and PR verging on psychological warfare which alternately alleges that its software is going cure cancer, take our jobs, or kill us all—things that can’t happen. Its entire staff consists of people committed to the religious conviction that the software they are creating is a new form of sentience. They currently process over a million merges a month on over 25GB of source code that no one in the company can possibly understand. This company is strictly an impossible-to-win bet that they are going to be the first to create “AGI” if they just keep creating bigger and bigger piles of slop. That’s not going to happen. Instead they will get increasingly desperate to prove their software is more than a preposterously bloated algorithm. The software will get increasingly worse. And this company will die in a fire along with the industry.

the most fcked up thing is it is impossible to create artificial intelligence. that's why LLMs are running the party.
I see no progress in AI. I only see progress in computer automation that is claimed to be AI. There has never been any AI in the world. Intelligence is not automated mimicry. Turing would have liked it but intelligence is not an imitation game. My take is that the AI community is farther from solving intelligence than they were when the GOFAI crowd renamed cybernetics to AI. Of course, calling it "super intelligence" is laughable. 😀

drink petroleum and vomit all over that tokens
There's never been a better time to be a consumer of tokens.

Life advice I learned from sports: Entitlement erodes respect faster than failure. Nobody owes you anything. Special treatment. Softer rules. Automatic recognition. Whatever. You have to win your spot. Be grateful for every opportunity to do so. Respect is earned, not given.

Programming had no choice but to optimize and auto mode itself. Writing code was never this easy. Adopt or die? No, just fkin enjoy it

People who push back on AI usage have no idea how much it speeds you up and removes manual work from your day so you can focus on solving problems. I've been in software for 20 years, it genuinely makes being a developer SO much more pleasant

Anthropic's annualized revenue run rate was just leaked, showing it peaked back in July 2026. That month sounds familiar doesn't it? 🤨 That's exactly when the psyop Jacob Coxon was deployed across all mainstream media, scaring everyone that AI would destroy the world. Now we know why AI companies are panicking. Their revenue has peaked but their costs keep rising. They've run out of funding because flat revenue = no more "investment" loans, yet their cash burn rate is still skrocketing. They need a taxpayer bailout to continue spending a.k.a. "regulation".
There you go... This entire "AI is going to kill us" was an orchestrated psyop. Dario Amodei was on @FaceNationCBS this morning saying "The government and the public needs to have a stake" in AI and that he wants the entire AI industry regulated. Translation: We need a taxpayer funded bailout but we'll call it an "investment." They want government "regulation" because it means protection from the open source Chinese AI models. As I said, this entire Jacob Coxon media frenzy was an orchestrated psyop to manipulate public opinion into providing a bailout.

Did you know why Artificial intelligence was rebranded to Superior Intelligence? This is very bearish. Because the government realized AI is fake. It’s a bubble. So a rebranding was necessary.

They turned a $10B retail fraud scheme from a group of degens in an amphetamines-addicted sex cult living in a $100M Bahamas compound into ... a normie love story This movie was never going to be good, but man what a missed opportunity

This will sound super crazy, but I see a path to SpaceX being worth orders of magnitude more than the current Earth economy

Main Indian issue is 2 fold— 1. They have taken on massive infra projects (and debt) without first solving corruption & culture. 2. The political class is all petty thieves. India in 20 years will look more like Venezuela and less like China or Singapore .
