Some of the longest and strongest relationships I have in this district and this City and State are with Black women who have been leading in their neighborhoods for decades. When I think about my experience in elected office, it is Black women who have shaped me and showed me what this work is about and what matters most — Lisa Gladden, Joan Carter Conway, Verna Jones Rodwell, Catherine Pugh, Shirley Nathan Pulliam, Delores Kelley, Melony Griffith, Mary Washington, Jill P Carter, Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, and Sheila Dixon.
These women showed me what it actually means to be a warrior for people, and I hope my work on an everyday basis shows them how much they have taught me.

This is a tragedy that happened not far from where I live.
Under your policies @fisher4maryland the driver who has been charged with this deadly DUI wouldn’t be held accountable in our criminal justice system — he’d be deported before being convicted and sentenced to prison for his violent crime. If he’s convicted he should go to prison, if you had your way he wouldn’t.
And I’m not one to politicize tragedies like this, but I should point out you’ve consistently voted against funding our State Troopers and Maryland law enforcement who keep our families safe on the roads.
Hey @JoeVogel_ — Are you proud of the carnage you, @mddems & @GovWesMoore have caused from your Sanctuary State policies?

Classic politician, not answering the question @fisher4maryland!
Here’s the vote sheet. Bipartisan support for legislation to lower electricity bills and take on the greed of utility corporations.
You and @MDFreedomCaucus sided with utilities and voted no.
Hey Sanctuary State @JoeVogel_ —
In short, the general bill-offset credits go to residential accounts without an immigration check. The expanded state-funded EUSP assistance is available to qualifying low-income Maryland residents who cannot get federal help, which includes undocumented immigrants.
Mark Edelson retweeted
That’s not true.
I’m still unsure why you voted against legislation to lower electricity bills for Maryland families, Mark?
Maybe has to do with the thousands you’ve taken in political contributions from energy/utility corporations?
Hey @JoeVogel_ - The Utility Relief Act uses taxpayer dollars to pay electricity bills of illegals.

BREAKING: Legislative Democrats get a win in the Supreme Court of MD as the high court affirms one lower court ruling in part but orders the ballot question replaced with a version written by the judges. Details soon on Maryland Matters

Condolences to the @MDFreedomCaucus for their loss before the Supreme Court today.
Maybe now they can go back to working for their constituents, instead of desperately seeking a Fox News booking.

Twenty years ago, I was told to accept things the way they were. I didn't. And I never will.
For the last 15 years as your State Senator, I have delivered for the residents of the 46th District and protected against threats to our freedoms.
On June 23rd, I am asking for your vote so that we can keep fighting for the 46th.

Baltimore fought for this. Maryland is accelerating nearly $25 million to jump-start a new bus division - the linchpin of the BMORE Bus plan and a major step toward expanding service for the workers, students, and families who depend on it every day. Grateful for Del. Edelson and every advocate and rider who packed hearings and rallied in Annapolis to make this happen.

The Democratic Central Committee does the essential work of democracy between elections — keeping District 46 organized, engaged, and represented.
Team 46 is proud to endorse:
Barrington Branch
Turrell Brooks
Nick Frisone
Joe Koehler
Kellie Gaither
Kristen McCurdy
Martina Owens
Natasha Zepeda
This slate reflects the full breadth of District 46 — different neighborhoods, different backgrounds, one shared commitment to this community.
This district has an extraordinary bench of people who want to serve, and I'm committed to working with all Central Committee members.
Vote Team 46 on June 23rd.

Brooke Lierman and I have been neighbors, friends, and colleagues doing this work side by side for nearly a decade.
She was elected to serve the 46th District as a Delegate in 2014 — already one of the sharpest policy minds in the building — and spent eight years showing up for these neighborhoods and the people who live here.
When she ran for Comptroller, I endorsed her without hesitation. Today she’s the first woman independently elected to statewide constitutional office in Maryland history. And she still lives right here in the 46th.
Her endorsement means more to me than most because she knows this district, she knows this community, and she’s seen up close what we’ve built together for Baltimore over the years.
Early voting starts June 11. Election Day is June 23.

Brandon Scott and I go back almost 20 years. We came up in public service together, long before either of us was in the jobs we’re in now. He’s Mayor. I’m Senate President. A lot has changed since then.
I’m proud to have Brandon’s endorsement — and even prouder of what we’ve built together for this city. New schools. Lower crime. Investment coming home to our neighborhoods. A Baltimore that’s proving what’s possible when people refuse to give up on it.
Early voting starts June 11. Election Day is June 23. Let’s keep building.
