There has been a lot of noise, much of it unfair, around Aryna Sabalenka and her off-court activity. She is still world number one, continues to turn up and win big tournaments, and will want to win this event: Mark Valledy, London-based Tennis commentator

Carlos Alcaraz has quietly gone about his business and is beginning to look dangerous after a slow start to the tournament. I’ll be amazed if he doesn’t emerge as the favourite by Sunday’s final. Ben Shelton will be a tough quarterfinal opponent, but Alcaraz has the edge in the head-to-head, has an aura about him and also has a point to prove: Mark Valledy, London-based Tennis commentator

Delighted to preview the US Open Quarter Finals with @PakistanTV this evening. It's certainly tricky to pick a winner from both sides. (Although my pre tournament tip Jessica Pegula is still going strong at the time of writing.
A real pleasure chatting all things @WTA with fellow commentator @AnnemarieBatson on @wearetrackradio earlier this week. Love this station, hope it goes from strength to strength.

Been such a joy sharing the commentary booth with Anna Smith this week for @WTA Toronto. Final match today on centre court, so feel free to join us on the usual channels from 17.30 BST.
Safe to say a win at 'home' in Athens would mean a lot to Maria Sakkari. Can she do it or will Barbora Krejikova play party pooper. Can't wait to call this and we start very soon!!
Been looking forward to this for some time. The first visit to Athens in over 35 years for the @WTA and we have a seriously strong line up. Join me on Centre Court for commentary all week (including the final) over on @SkySportsTennis. We start in 30 mins!🎙🎾
Had a fantastic week commentating at the Lexus British Open alongside Anna Smith. We were treated to some incredible matches and to see the likes of Alfie Hewett and Diede De Groot close up was incredible. Many thanks @the_LTA for the opportunity and here's to next year!
Final match of a wonderful week at Bad Homburg....and what a final! Join myself and Steph Dubois for Naomi Osaka against Karolina Muchova which starts shortly. 🎙🎾
Just opened my Twitter feed to see a post by the legend that is @dougiedonnelly The memories of student afternoons watching Bowls and Darts amongst other sports came flooding back. Great broadcaster!!
Are you serious @RobertDyas I buy an air conditioner on Friday (website said 100+ in stock) and you email me TODAY as the heatwave starts to say it's suddenly 'out of stock'. Do you think that's acceptable??? Dreadful on many levels! (And of no air cons anywhere now!)
