The reason France and other European countries are stagnating is because the govts are larger than the private sector.
Your simple minded answer is…more government. Truly imbecilic.
From the high schools of France to the streets of Madrid to the universities of Tirana, young people are telling their governments the same thing: in an age of massive wealth inequality, they want a future they can believe in.
In France, students and teachers are asking for safe schools, enough teachers and smaller classes.
In Spain, for affordable rent and housing.
In Albania, for good jobs and an end to corruption.
@JDVance says this is what happens when a nation lets in too many immigrants from the global south.
He is not just morally wrong, but misreading the moment.
The is what happens when nations let wealth and power accumulate in the hands of a few.
This is what happens when young people lose hope in their future.
In America, let us listen to our young.
We need an economic and political transformation.
America's Next New Deal.

If you live in one of the gray states, your governor has blocked scholarships from the new Trump federal scholarship program from being given to kids in your state.
And I would recommend upgrading to a better governor.

NEW: Thank you WA Governor Bob Ferguson for blocking federal scholarships going to kids in our state.
Democrats clearly care about funding public education. @BobFergusonGov

Everett Public Schools just paid $275,000 and apologized for going after a voluntary Bible program for elementary kids. A board member admitted "animus" toward it, a federal judge stepped in, and now the whole board has to sit through religious liberty training.

Shoutout to @BrandiKruse who has been so critical in supporting the girls who have been forced to compete with boys in Washington State. Thanks for giving them a voice and uplifting them.

🚨 UPDATE: The Iranian regime has sentenced 23-year-old student Najmeh Amini to DEATH for "insulting the prophet" in a social media post
WHERE IS THE UNITED NATIONS? Where are the liberal FEMINIST groups? 😡
She was sentenced to death last month but we now know the reason is INSULTING THE PROPHET
This is what Islamic theocracy looks like.
She was arrested January 31 for joining the mass protests against the regime.
She spent eight months in Mashhad's Vakilabad Prison, reportedly with no lawyer. On top of the death sentence, she got 12 more years for "anti-regime propaganda"
The world cannot stay silent while they hang a young woman over SPEECH!

Too many republicans and independents thought Reichert wasn’t “like them” enough.
So they stayed home.
And now we have Ferguson, billions of more in taxes, the second highest unemployment rate in the country, and now they are coming for your income.
Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good.
Vote.

Weekend reading.
Several people have asked about the WA State School Superintendent's letter making the sleazy case for rejecting the federal school choice tax credit program.
Each state has to opt in to make the federal income tax credit available to its residents. The tax credit acts like tuition that families can use to make choices for what type of K-12 education they give their children.
Each governor makes the decision for each state.
This letter is designed to give WA's current governor political "cover" to make the stupid decision NOT to opt in to the federal program. And to deny school choice to WA families.
This letter is wrong.
If the current governor refuses to join the federal tax credit program, he's also wrong.
