🚨Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall on why he left Chelsea for Everton:
🗣️ Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall: “When I left Chelsea for Everton, people acted like I had destroyed my career.
I remember the comments.
‘Why Everton?’
‘Why leave Chelsea?’
‘He’s gone backwards.’
Honestly, some of it made me laugh.
Because people were looking at the badge instead of looking at my career.
Chelsea is a massive club. I respect that.
But being at a massive club doesn’t automatically mean you’re developing.
Sometimes you can be surrounded by £100 million players and still feel like nobody is really watching you.
That was my reality.
I didn’t want to spend another year trying to convince people at Chelsea that I deserved an opportunity.
I wanted to play football.
Real football.
Important football.
And Everton gave me that.
People talk about Everton like it’s some small club.
I’m sorry, but have you actually looked at the history of this football club?
The stadium, the supporters, the expectations — this isn’t a holiday destination.
You walk into Everton and you immediately understand what responsibility feels like.
Then I met David Moyes.
He didn’t treat me like a player who had come from Chelsea looking for somewhere to hide.
He looked me in the eyes and said, ‘If you’re good enough, you’ll play. If you’re not good enough, I’ll tell you.’
I respected that immediately.
At Chelsea, I sometimes felt like I was fighting to be noticed.
At Everton, Moyes made me feel like I had something to prove every single day.
He gave me responsibility.
He gave me freedom.
And he gave me something I desperately needed confidence.
I made mistakes in training and expected him to destroy me.
Instead, he’d say, ‘Again.’
I’d look at him like, ‘What do you mean again?’
He’d say, ‘You heard me. Do it again.’
That changed me.
He didn’t want a player scared of making mistakes.
He wanted a player brave enough to demand the ball when everything was going wrong.
That’s the player I wanted to become.
So when people say I left Chelsea for Everton, I don’t see it as a step down.
I see it as the moment I stopped waiting for somebody else to decide my value.
And maybe that’s what bothers some Chelsea fans.
Because I didn’t leave and disappear.
I left and started becoming the player I believed I could be.
David Moyes gave me responsibility Chelsea couldn’t give me at that moment.
Everton gave me a reason to fight for my place every weekend.
So if you ask me whether I regret leaving Chelsea?
Not for one second.
I didn’t leave Chelsea because Everton was bigger.
I left because Everton was better for me.
That’s the difference.
Sometimes the club with the bigger name isn’t the club that gives you the bigger career.
Chelsea gave me a big badge.
Everton gave me belief.
And David Moyes gave me my football back.
So people can keep calling Everton a small club.
I’ll keep playing for them.
And maybe one day they’ll understand that I didn’t step backwards.
I simply stepped away from the noise and found a manager who actually believed in me.
That was the best decision I could have made.”

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Bloody Sunday campaigner John Kelly.
John was a proud Derry man who spent much of his life fighting for truth and justice.
His 17-year-old brother Michael was murdered by the British Army on Bloody Sunday, and for more than five decades John fought for justice, not just for his own family but for all those killed and injured that day.
Despite the continued denial of justice, John never gave up. His courage and determination in taking on the British state in the fight for justice was remarkable.
Through his campaigning and his work at the Museum of Free Derry, John made sure the story of Bloody Sunday was passed on to new generations and that the fight for justice would never be forgotten.
My heartfelt condolences go to John’s children, grandchildren and the wider Kelly family at this very sad time.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Happy Heavenly Centenary Birthday to Liverpool born actor Leonard Rossiter, who would have been 100 years old today. Born at 19 Cretan Road in Wavertree, he gave us some of the greatest comedy performances on British television (including Cinzano commercials LOL!). What was your favourite Leonard Rossiter role?

Every night, Israeli soldiers fire bullets at the tents of displaced Palestinians for entertainment, and Palestinian civilians are killed day after day while sleeping inside their tents.
Tonight, an innocent little girl Misk Al-Dalo was killed, becoming yet another victim of Israeli brutality in Gaza.
Please share this video in every language so the world can see what is happening and this senseless killing of Palestinian lives can finally stop.

Cooper: "We did not get involved in any of the offensive action on Iran"
US planes were taking off from British bases to bomb Iran & Keir Starmer boasted that within 2hrs of the war starting RAF pilots were shooting down Iranian missiles. Does that sound like not being involved?

Probably the right call made by the ref here. No point getting 15 minutes in then having to call the game off.
Sometimes it pays to be cautious.
