"I'm tired waiting for someone to do an alternative to Airbnb, I'm just going to start working on this right now"
Listen to why I decided to start Caza de Casa and much much more in this conversation I had with @jcrpntr on the @futuresignalxyz podcast
Tons of DEVELOPERS couldn't even tell the difference
If a developer couldn't tell the difference then there's no way a user will
The only reason why people pick something other than Flutter to build apps is because they want to set fire to their money

Some of the reasons why review systems are so broken:
· On Airbnb anything under 5 stars hurts the host.
· Words like "noisy" and "clean" mean different things to different people.
· Reviews ignore who the guest is. E.g. A family vs A digital nomad in their 20s. Both seek different things, but their scores get blended.
I analyzed the range of ratings on booking sites and it's pretty crazy
Airbnb goes just from 4.5 to 5 with a median of 5!
But most others aren't better, they all range from about 4 to 5, and almost all have a median of 4.25, with not many scores outside of it!
The best site in terms of honest ratings is actually Yelp, whatever they're doing it's working, it shows an actual normal distribution and ratings you can trust
Hotelist itself is a normal distribution with median at 3.5, which was my goal, most stays are average/okay which I'd consider 3.5/5
Vrbo commission fee increasing to 12% for hosts.
Vrbo are also getting rid of their $499 a year subscription plan.
This move is very similar to Airbnb who went from charging a 3% service fee to their hosts and 12% service fee to their guests to a single 15.5% fee to their hosts.
Before this change hosts on Vrbo had the option to pick either a 8% fee (5% commission and 3% payment processing) or a $499 a year subscription.
It's 2026 and Bumble still allows catfish accounts
Terra Chad Experiment Part 2:
2 Bumble profiles. EXACT same face and body of TERRA Chad (clearly AI, but profiles verified now)
Profile 1: “Unemployed” on profile. Bio says he still lives at home. Dresses like a homeless guy in every pic, yet still Terra Chad.
Profile 2: Private Equity VP. Expensive looking nice outfits. Nice watches. Clearly has money.
How much will status actually matter on dating apps when you’re this good looking?
48 hours. Results coming.
Another reason for when to leave:
When you want to work with a new technology
If you cannot work with a new technology that excites you at your current role then it's time to go
Now it's easy for everyone to see what apartments people are searching for on Caza de Casa

I pre-ordered this book as soon as I seen it announced
As soon as it was available on Audible I bought it there too
I always find so many useful tips from Jason Cohen's articles and without I doubt I know his book Hidden Multipliers will be filled with them too
After more than a year of labor, my book 𝘏𝘪𝘥𝘥𝘦𝘯 𝘔𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘪𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘳𝘴 has launched!
It's all my best ideas -- and best writing -- on how to grow your company with your existing budget and team.
And yes, I read the audiobook myself. :-)
𝗕𝘂𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁: You can buy cheaper bundles directly from me -- Kindle and Audiobook, or those plus the physical book -- from hiddenmultipliers.com
𝗕𝘂𝘆 𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗼𝗻: It is available in paperback, Kindle, and Audible: tinyurl.com/hiddenmultiplier…
𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗔𝗜 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀: Skills that implement the ideas in the book as well as articles, more added all the time, at skills.asmartbear.com/
I'm so proud of this and grateful to the many people who helped along the way, reading early drafts, challenging my ideas, and encouraging me to do it, and the 750 people who preordered the book, trusting that it would be worth it.
All your feedback and ideas are welcome, as usual!
(P.S. You know this already, but 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄𝘀 and 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 is extremely appreciated!)

This past Tuesday, I launched CHUMP and I'll be honest it was weird and not what I thought "launching" my solo built tech company would be like.
There were no drinks at the local bar after, no confetti or champagne in the office, no high fives to pump up music and no banners in the parking lot. It was just me pressing a couple buttons and boom, CHUMP was born. Weird, right? (maybe it's just me)
As of writing this, I have 6 people currently using the product daily and that's a massive WIN for the first hours of CHUMP.
6 people may feel like nothing, but, as @MarkOSullivan94 reminded me recently, "you've got to celebrate all the victories along the way", and, honestly 6 is a brilliant start!
I hope everyone has a great weekend and if you're curious to check out CHUMP today, here you go → hichump.com/

This morning, I spoke with @MarkOSullivan94 and he reminded me to celebrate the small victories.
So, I’ve now got 6 people talking to their money on @hichumpdotcom and that’s a great way to cap off the first 72 hours since launch 🚀
Happy Friday!
"I built CHUMP to fix something that's always bugged me: the personal finance space is intentionally confusing. My accounts are spread across too many banks, and you can never see the full picture."
Founder ➡️ pain point ➡️ solution
When a founder focuses on creating a solution to a pain point which has caused a ton of frustration you know they will create something awesome
Congratulations on the launch @getjarrett!
The latest blog post that I published for the Caza de Casa blog about the Distrito Palermo in Medellín is appearing in the Images section in the results to a Google Search for "distrito palermo medellin"
