True for a long time - certainly since I was at DfE 20 years ago. Not just about HE, huge gap at GCSEs. This chart shows just 17% of white kids on FSM getting good GCSEs in maths and English (it's just 15% for white boys on FSM).
For those asking for more detail on educational outcomes for different groups take a look at this. You will find white British boys on free school meals 3rd from bottom, just above Gypsy/Roma and Traveller of Irish heritage

This week our Early Years hub looks at ways you can help to prepare your child over the summer ahead of starting back in September. Videos and activities around transition can be used now and over the summer to support this move for your 3,4 or 5 year old. sites.google.com/blvue.com/e…

The Covid mortality rate for children is 0.01% roughly the same as seasonal flu and if you don’t believe me ask @BBCNewsnight. Those spreading fear and misinformation to parents, and children, are doing real, lasting damage to an entire generation.

This is the most heartening thing I've seen for a while. Looks like the reason there are so few very sick kids is they're not getting it at all (as opposed to getting v mild or asymptomatic versions).

So why aren't we seeing kids with COVID-19? Is it because they're not getting it, or just not sick enough to go to hospital? Iceland tested 6% of their whole population. In community testing (random), 0/848 of children <10yrs were positive nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NE… 4/12

When one bank, out of more than 40 participating lenders, is responsible for the vast majority of loans, questions must be asked about the confidence banks have in the scheme. If they detect flaws in the system, they must speak up. cityam.com/the-long-read-the…
