NC State rant incoming here….as an alum and also someone who is not a Dave Doeren fan…. The love affair for Dave Doeren is out of control. On top of just being an outright asshole, the only thing anyone can ever point to with him is longevity. He's got more wins than any NC Sate head coach only because hes been the head coach since 2013. The standard for NC State isn't that high. Chuck Amato (.446) and Tom O’Brien(.458) didn't have winning ACC records either, but both of them only had 7 and 6 seasons respectively. Meanwhile Doeren is on his 14th season coaching this team. Your god Dave doeren as the coach of NC State… 51-56 in the ACC 4-6 in bowl games 9-31 against AP top 25 opponents Please spare me the love affair for this guy who hasn't done anything better than his predecessors but has somehow been given the key to Raleigh for some ungodly reason. Perhaps it's for the amazing ambition of continuing mediocrity in the most absolute and sense or perhaps it's for the fear of being a below average acc program. For which the bar isn't that high anyway. Today’s loss is a culmination of ineptitude from Doeren, but no one or at least the majority of NC Sate fans don't seem to care bc he won 7 conference games once upon a time in 2020. A year btw in which they lost to three ranked teams, including UNC and also lost the Gator Bowl. The ACC is not a juggernaut. Dabo is the only HC with any kind of real track record in the conference. Pat Narduzzi (Pitt) has the most ACC wins outside of Dabo since 2013 (the year DD became the HC at NCSU).
