It’s been a privilege to serve #GrovePark as your councillor over the last 4 years.
I’m not going anywhere, but a few thoughts after a couple of days of reflection and (mostly) sleep.

Under the Green Mayor Lewisham has lost a £1.5bn town centre plan.
1,700 homes. A park the size of a Premiership pitch. A music venue. 300+ trees.
Approved under Labour. Shaped by 2,500+ residents.
Landsec says the Greens’ refusal to back the next phase is part of why.

1,700 homes, a new park, a music venue and so much more. On a site where nobody lives.
Our group leader, @Ese_Journo, warned the Mayor this would happen. He called her embarrassing.
Lewisham deserves better.
This convention feels hopelessly outdated now given, e.g. what times the Commons sit vs. when markets open, social media, etc.
Heaven forbid government policy is announced somewhere to which anybody might be paying attention.
The Speaker of the House of Commons scolded MPs after the decision to approve the Jackdaw gas field was announced Wednesday morning via releases to the press.
Under the ministerial code, all major policy announcements should be made in the Commons before being revealed to the wider public.
Sir Lindsay Hoyle criticised the government for treating "Sky News [as] more important than" MPs.

Landsec has pulled out of its £1.5bn investment in Lewisham shopping centre, citing Mayor @LiamShrivastava's Green administration's lack of support.
300+ affordable homes, jobs, a park and a music venue: gone.

Really terrible news but unsurprising - @Ese_Journo and @LewishamLabour warned the Mayor just last month that he risked this by playing politics with the development.
The Mayor’s poor judgment has cost Lewisham £1.5bn of badly needed investment and 1700+ homes. Disasterclass 🤦🏻♂️

When you see Erling Haaland scoring and the City fans celebrating as if the club has been persecuted and not been found to be the biggest cheats in football history, you understand why everything that now happens - a continued product of the cheating - badly stains the league

People on the left still having their wallets inspected by Polanski. A shallow liberal parroting our slogans for votes.
He prefers Cameron, the architect of austerity, to a Labour PM? Cameron, whose cuts led to 330,000 excess deaths.
Course he does, he was a Lib Dem in 2016.
Green Party leader @ZackPolanski plays a brutally honest game of "This or That" with @mehdirhasan, ranking Britain's recent prime ministers.
Tories: ‘reduce the welfare bill!’
Also Tories: ‘no not like that!’

Labour are not cutting pensions, they are reforming the triple lock. Pensions will still rise every year, either at 2.5% or in line with inflation. Whichever is higher. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
