LRC Gendarmes Among Five Apprehended For Kidnapping in Konye Kidnapping has become a business on the ground. Three Cameroun soldiers were reportedly beaten in Konye, while a Mezam gendarmerie chief was reportedly arrested over a kidnapping ring in Bamenda. These cases deserve attention when discussing who is behind these crimes. bareta.news/lrc-gendarmes-am… via @@BaretaNews

The big question is: what is Southern Cameroons–Ambazonia doing to prepare for a post-Biya era? What are our strategies? Are we preparing, or are we simply reacting to events as they unfold? Whether we identify as Anglophones, Southern Cameroonians or Ambazonians, what is our proactive political position? What are the so-called Anglophone politicians doing? Why is there no organised Anglophone or Southern Cameroons political bloc on the ground, building a common agenda and preparing to act? These are questions we must each reflect on seriously. What future do we want, and what are we doing today to prepare for it? Could the Peoples’ Consultative Conference provide a way forward? I will share my views and statements in the days ahead. *504 PAGES OF OUR STORY — AND STILL GROWING* The current manuscript of *Ambazonia: The Human Cost now stands at 504 pages*, documenting ten years of our struggle through photographs, letters and other historical records. This is a documentary record of our people’s experiences. We are documenting the war in real time, preserving what we have witnessed and lived through for generations to come. As work continues, I am calling on anyone with unpublished or never-before-seen photographs, as well as other relevant images, letters, statements, newspaper cuttings, personal accounts or documents, to contribute. Your contribution could help tell a part of our story that is still missing. 📩 Send your materials to: [email protected] Please include a brief description of each item, with the date and location where known. Only materials relating to the struggle, the war and its impact on our people, please. By the time we go to print, I want someone who knows nothing about our history to open this book and understand our story through its images and records. Our experiences deserve to be documented. Our history deserves to be preserved. Mark Bareta Bareta Media and Communications CIC 10th Anniversary • 2016–2026 • Work in progress
