It's pronounced Houston not Houston
I’ve spent the majority of the past year trying to refind myself. The last album I put out sent me around the world, discovering new heights I never knew existed. I signed to Capitol Records. I moved to New York City and when I finally settled down to write the next album I felt the immense pressure to do it all over again.
I set a goal for myself after Rockwood of being more intentional with everything I do. Who I surround myself with, what I do in my free time, the person I am to the important people in my life and maybe most importantly being more intentional with the things that I make. I know what I’ve been aiming for with my second album but if I’m being honest with myself I haven’t fully gotten there yet. On the journey to that place though, I’ve stumbled into the East Houston Tapes - seven songs recorded at my place with some of my best friends.
To me, these songs are about finding yourself when you’ve seemingly lost your direction. They’re making new friends and experiencing new places. They’re lifting eachother up when the world can feel so heavy and dark. They’re remembering to have fun with the people you love- that not everything is so deep and to always keep on looking forward to tomorrow.
In celebration of Born For You dropping tonight at midnight, I wanted to spill and let you know the East Houston Tapes, my next EP, will be yours on November 13th !!
New project means I need to see you all again, doesn’t it?

Knicks won the final, I played a stadium show and it was insane- this is too many good things for one day is something bad about to happen
Seems like God made Arizona so we could all know what it feels like to be a chicken cutlet in the oven
I found out some crazy news last week that I’ve been tryin to wrap my head around. I knew I was announcing this today, so this morning I went down a rabbit hole. I rediscovered a video of Ed Sheeran performing Multiply Live in Dublin. I used to watch it religiously. I remember wanting to be him- partially because my girlfriend at the time loved him but more so because I wanted to tour the world and sing my songs for people who wanted to listen. I remember every version of myself starting out in music referencing so many different Ed Sheeran songs, watching the way he engaged a crowd, and feeling the passion he had for his craft inspire me. I remember first learning how to play guitar on a mini guitar because thats what Ed Sheeran did. I could talk about this all day but I’ll spare you and instead ask you to swipe to see the most exciting news I’ve ever received. SEE YOU AT STATE FARM STADIUM
