Yup, just landed in my inbox, and im already drowning in the fallout off netscaler, PHPs phsycopathic updates, and now, a DNS CVE, just what the doctor ordered.
We can not keep up this pace of day 0 patching, it can not be done. Something has to change here.
AAAAWWOOOOOOOGAAAAAAAAA
A high severity vulnerability in "the most widely deployed DNS software on the internet" just dropped

Note to self, you keep saying semi-retired. Admit it, this is a full time job since AI vulnerably scanning became a "thing"
You have billed more hours this year, than you have in the last 2.5 combined.
A little over 4 hours sleep. Urgh.
At this point i'm operating on pure cafine and spite.
It would seem the PHP Mitigations from upstream are not entirely successful, so another round of patching. Namely compile it yourself.
That's PHP fixed, and just when i think this week cant get any worse, i aint even made it out the door an another 9.2 CVE lands.
Im going home, and bollox to the CVE's, can not keep this pace, i've been in this chair more than 45 hours. Enough is enough.
Perhaps this will fix the document leakage. You know the ones all starting with OFFICIAL - SENSATIVE that are exposed. I did report this, same for @neso_energy so if this is what it takes to patch im all for it.
Ive been in this fucking chair now for almost 40 hours. The vulnerability patching is a joke, £90,000 to bring a team of 3 in for 36 hours hours work.
We can not keep this pace, this has to change. You can keep dropping this shit on a few hours notice.
YOU ARE FUCKING KIDDING ME. We can not keep pace with this onslaught. Ive not yet finished the last round.
This attrition is 2 damn high, we cant keep this pace we just cant.
The NCSC is encouraging UK organisations to prepare for immediate updating of systems using PHP. Where immediate remediation is not feasible, organisations should consider taking the system offline until it can be fully mitigated.

Have british judges just done this? Here is comes, have i have you overpaid rent in the last 20 years, can we get it back on your behalf and keep it.
This will backfire, the courts, already taxed are about to see every rent agreement in the land subject to court review.

It literally reads to anyone looking. This is the limit of what can be managed, and net zero is a challenge still to complete. We need to re-evaluate the roles of inertia, fault current, SCL. Its a plea being voiced on the grid behalf. Anyone with modelling tools knows.
A message for the next generation of IT and Datacentre staff.
Think twice, because its not what you think, at 04:30am ive been at it 12 hours an no end sight in sight.
Skipjack, Heatbleed, Specter, Crowdstrike, Netscaler and a never ending stream of CVE's good luck.
Id rather have my firewall and good processes and procedures, ill be honest. Modern tools have become very good, home users left out in the dark but the tools today are excellent.

#CyberMonth2026
I do believe i called that. The evidence never supported the claims for the specific date
An independent investigation has found no evidence to substantiate the core allegations against NESO around operational decision-making and record-keeping.
It constructively identifies areas where we could improve how colleagues can raise concerns and how we respond to them. We will act on the recommendations and be open with colleagues about our progress.

Still dealing with fallout from netscaler and a few others. Ai is good for security ni doubt, but keeping up with patches is becoming a full time job. Can't audit anything when then environment changes second by second

Hmmm has anyone suggested to these people, to build the data centre where the power is already. There are plenty of generation rich export starved zones that would enjoy a big heavy load.
As of 10:30am Yesterday when i opened my inbox, every single one of these projects is now on hold subject to legal work. Thats right, someone filed papers accusing me of hacking there network, taking data that i have no entitlement to and much more. Wait till they realise.
Ill admit, my first reading of this 3 page monster was filled with a lot of non English words.
You client can request what they like, there data is no longer used, on a voluntary basis, the account i used does not appear to be banned at present. And you can not revoke the licenses i already have.
This is going to be fun.
I've been SERVED.
And there not coming for the tools oh no, there coming from me, which is interesting.
Bring it on Mr DNO, thanks for the letter, now if you will excuse me for a moment, i need a crap, i have a feeling this letter has a real purpose.
