🏀 @Mark50__ — THE ENGINE OF @GbokoCityChiefs
Across the 2026 NPBL Final 8, Marcus Thomas Jr. proved to be one of the competition’s most influential guards.
His opening game performance against defending champions Maktown Flyers said plenty:
17 PTS | 8 REB | 4 AST
But Marcus’ impact went far beyond scoring. He led the assists board across the 28 Final 8 games, highlighting his ability to create for others while controlling the game from the backcourt.
And when the pressure mounted, he delivered.
🔥 Against Rivers Hoopers, his three-pointer tied the game at 59 to force overtime.
🔥 On the final day against Lagos Raptors, his three at the halftime buzzer cut a 10pt deficit to 35–34, helping spark Gboko’s comeback to a 78–76 victory and a place in the Final Four.
My Take: Marcus Thomas Jr. was arguably the heartbeat of Gboko City Chiefs’ 5–2 campaign.
He scored. He created. He rebounded. He controlled possessions. And when the game demanded a big shot, he wasn't afraid to take it.
Creation. Control. Clutch execution.
That’s the Marcus Thomas Jr. story from the Final 8 and the numbers tell the story...
