I have a couple of friends within and outside Nigeria that are now fond of sharing every bad news about Nigeria with me especially from Instablog, Tunde Ednut and few others all in a bid to question my support for the President.
My response has been the same and quite effective.
- Where was your message when Nigeria recently eliminated the number 2 of ISWAP (globally) in addition to over 100 members in a collaboration with the US?
- Where was your message every time reports come out that thousands of terrorists have been eliminated in the Northeast by the military?
- Where was your message when Nigeria’s economy was listed among the highest growing economies in the world ahead of many of your favorite nations?
- Where was your message when students celebrated 3 years of no ASUU strike due to increased funding and the students loan?
- Where was your message when several citizens were celebrating improved infrastructural investments across the 36 states of the federation?
- Where was your message when state governors were praising the President for increased allocation which has stopped them from borrowing and helped pay salaries on time?
- Where was your message when Nigeria was removed from IMF list of debtors?
- Where was your message when companies that used to declare losses started declaring excess profits all over the place?
- Where was your message when Nigeria became a net exporter of petroleum products compared to years when we were the import king?
- Where was your message when leading credit rating companies started upgrading Nigeria’s rating after many decades?
- Where was your message when people were praising Tunji Ojo for making our passport applications easier than it has ever been in the country?
Why is it that you only remember to message me when bad things happen in the country? Have you been waiting for this opportunity simply because you didn’t like that choice of 2023?
Again, let nobody gaslight you ahead of 2027 due to recent developments that now sounds politically motivated. They have a right to focus on the criticisms and bad news while you have a right to focus on the positive ones while hoping for the best going forward.
It is a fight between those who want to take us back in time to the corrupt days when subsidy payments on fuel and forex ruled the economy.
A fight between those who just want their kinsman to become the President without any solid capacity and one that has proven overtime to be effective.
Their concerns must be duly noted but never get gaslighted by their claims on your choice. Come 2027, the only choice is to remain focused and return the one that has done the hard job which other presidents have ran away from simply because they want to win elections.
We will be there cos it will happen 😊.

New York City, wetin dey sup? It was a joy to commemorate 34 years of the Nigerian Day Parade alongside the many Nigerian New Yorkers who fill our city with life.
From the entrepreneurs whose businesses strengthen our neighborhoods, to the sounds of Afrobeats pouring out of graduation parties in Southeast Queens, and the aroma of Agege bread calling out to passersby in Brooklyn — the impact of Nigerian New Yorkers is felt across the five boroughs.
Our city is richer in culture, stronger in community, and more vibrant because of your contributions.

"I went to him, and he responded in spite of my being in the opposition. He sent a high-powered military contingent under the National Security Adviser... They really removed over 100,000 people who were trying to destroy our peace, and today, all those who were overrun have returned to their places... Tell him we will never forget this goodwill he has done"

INFORMATION ON CRASH OF A MILITARY AIRCRAFT
I regret to inform the general public that Air Traffic Controllers have informed me of the disappearance of a military aircraft with tail number NGR 931, enroute Lagos from Benin at 0913 hours earlier today. All efforts to raise the aircraft on radio proved abortive.
Subsequently information however confirmed that the military aircraft has crashed close to the Naval Base in Igbokoda, Ondo State. The wreckage has been located and search and rescue operations are ongoing.
Preliminary information suggests that there were 25 passengers and 7 crew members on board.
Whilst the control and regulation of military aircraft are completely outside the authority of the Ministry of Aviation, and Civil Aviation Authority, I have just spoken to the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke and pledged our total cooperation and assistance in the search and rescue efforts ongoing.
Further information on this unfortunate incident will be made available subsequently.

Nigeria: Stop Comparing the Destination to the Starting Point.
As 2027 approaches, the Nigerian political class is warming up its machinery. The promises are coming. The accusations are coming. The revisionism has already begun.
So let me offer Nigerians one simple instruction:
Do not compare Nigeria to the promise. Compare Nigeria to the starting point.
That is the only intellectually honest way to judge a reforming government.
When President Bola Ahmed Tinubu assumed office in 2023, Nigeria was not a blank sheet of paper. He did not inherit Singapore. He did not inherit Switzerland. He inherited a country carrying years of accumulated economic distortions, an unsustainable fuel subsidy regime, a deeply problematic foreign-exchange system, severe fiscal pressures, declining purchasing power and a political culture that had become remarkably comfortable with postponing difficult decisions.
The choice before the new administration was therefore not between perfection and imperfection.
It was between reform and continued deterioration.
President Tinubu chose reform.
That choice came with consequences.
Fuel subsidy was removed. The exchange-rate regime was reformed. Government had to confront the uncomfortable mathematics of a country spending beyond its sustainable means.
Predictably, the people who spent years demanding that Nigeria confront its structural problems suddenly discovered that they preferred the structure exactly as it was.
That is politics.
But economics does not care about political convenience.
You cannot consume tomorrow forever.
You cannot subsidise everything forever.
You cannot maintain artificial exchange rates forever.
You cannot continue accumulating obligations while pretending that somebody else will eventually pay the bill.
At some point, reality sends the invoice.
President Tinubu decided to open it.
Was the adjustment painful?
Yes.
Did Nigerians suffer through the transition?
Yes.
Should government therefore stop reform?
No.
That would be like stopping medical treatment because recovery is uncomfortable.
The relevant question is not whether reform hurts.
The relevant question is whether the patient is getting better.
And this is where the Nigerian political debate has become deliberately dishonest.
Some people want Nigerians to judge today’s Nigeria against the Nigeria that politicians promised during campaigns.
That is not how serious policy evaluation works.
Judge the starting point.
Judge the intervention.
Judge the direction of travel.
Judge the emerging outcomes.
Then ask whether we should continue.
My framework is simple:
Starting Point → Reform → Progress → Prosperity.
That is the line Nigerians should be watching.
And the magic does not happen in Abuja alone.
The magic happens in the states.
Nigeria is a federation. The quality of Nigerian life is ultimately determined in communities: in farms, factories, markets, schools, hospitals, construction sites, transport corridors, technology hubs and businesses.
This is why the next phase of the Tinubu project must be judged increasingly by what the reforms are enabling across the states.
Are states receiving greater fiscal space?
Are they investing?
Are businesses expanding?
Are new projects being announced?
Are infrastructure corridors being developed?
Are governments becoming more capable of generating and deploying resources?
Are investors beginning to see Nigeria differently?
Are Nigerians beginning to see opportunities where previously there was only scarcity?
These are the questions that matter.
Not the noise.
Not the social-media theatrics.
Not the recycled speeches of people who had years sometimes decades to demonstrate what they could do.
And Nigerians must be particularly careful about the politics of selective memory.
Suddenly, everybody remembers what Nigeria should become.
Very few want to discuss what Nigeria was.
I remember.
I remember the distortions.

Over the past few days, servicemen and women of the Armed Forces have shared what the recent pay increase means for them and their families. I am glad it is making a difference.
This week, the Nigerian Army @HQNigerianArmy operationalised new formations in Zamfara, Kebbi, Oyo and Osun. Our troops are now closer to vulnerable communities in these areas, strengthening our ability to respond swiftly and decisively when our people are threatened.
We are also fast-tracking the construction of new barracks and depots in Abuja, Ekiti, Ebonyi and Kogi, with Osun already completed. As we demand more from our men and women in uniform, we must do more to support them and their families.
Every deployment is a sacrifice made by a family too.
As our Armed Forces stand watch over Nigeria, my duty as Commander-in-Chief is to ensure they have the resources and support to do their job, and that Nigeria stands firmly behind the families waiting for them at home.

On Twitter, so far you are contesting against APC, you are automatically the most competent candidate.
Doesn’t matter what the qualifications or antecedents of the APC candidate is.
Never seen this kind of thing before in my life.
