The third part in my And Ghosts series on Substack delves into the life and times and ghosts of Irish writer Edna O’Brien.
I look at her tumultuous life, her writing routine and the many ghosts which wade across watery dens and rocky shore of Co. Clare to be at Edna’s command.
Weirdly while writing this, I did look over my shoulder a few times. Not feeling entirely alone when I was alone . I did wonder if Oliver Onions was right – the characters you put on the page can take charge , manifest . Come and get you.

This was just dandy. Loved this chat on Tarot DMs which explores writing through the medium of the Tarot . Also a delightful natter about haunted clocks, Labyrinth , superstitions and Kate Bush ( of course ). Also the Tarot was spookily accurate 👀
