Because the biggest problem faced by ordinary citizens is paying taxes on an iPhone
Alhamdulillah, after almost two years of struggle, we have managed to secure some relief for smartphone users who have been struggling with exorbitant taxes on imported smartphones.
Instead of paying a lump sum of around Rs. 100,000–250,000 in PTA taxes, users can now pay approximately Rs. 8,000–17,000 per month in instalments, making the burden more manageable.
InshaAllah, we will continue fighting for greater relief and more concessions for the public.
Developed a strange kind of love for Karachi. Can't explain it but it gives me that frog-in-throat kind of excited-nervous feeling.

For the last 1.5 years, I’ve been working with my team on something we deeply believe in. Finally, it’s out.
We’ve built inaraX, a personalized AI learning platform that adapts learning to who you are, what you already know, and what you want to achieve.
But AI is changing too fast for learning to stop at courses. So we’re also building a community where we can discuss what’s changing: From new technologies and use cases to safety and responsible AI, with weekly updates.
We’re starting with a few courses and will keep adding new learning paths and features.
Pakistan, KSA, UK & USA are our first focus markets.
After 1.5 years of building, testing and learning, it feels great to finally put InaraX out into the world.

For over a decade, Code for Pakistan has closed the gap between citizens and the systems meant to serve them. We build civic technology, train government institutions on digital governance and public service delivery, and run campaigns that put rights directly in citizens' hands

Last month I met an actual shaman in Hunza. They call them Bittaan. Not sharing details here but what an experience.
She was called the Queen of Melancholy.
Roohi Bano. Born 10 August 1951, Karachi.
Daughter of the tabla maestro Ustad Alla Rakha. Half-sister of Zakir Hussain. She studied psychology at Government College, Lahore, and completed her master’s degree.
She was still a student when she was spotted on a quiz show and stepped into television. Her breakthrough came in 1973 as the cheerful Kiran in Haseena Moin’s Kiran Kahani. What followed was a career of rare intensity.
Nearly 150 television dramas across the 1970s and 1980s. A handful of films. She specialised in complex, often tragic women and made them unforgettable.
In 1981 the President awarded her the Pride of Performance. She also received PTV Awards, the Nigar Award, the Graduate Award and a Lux Lifetime Achievement Award.
She married twice. Both marriages failed. She had one son, Ali.
In 2005 Ali was shot dead near their home in Gulberg, Lahore. He was in his early twenties. The loss broke something that never fully healed.
She was diagnosed with schizophrenia. She spent time at Fountain House. In later years she lived largely alone, sometimes carrying a doll she said was her son.
In 2015 she survived a violent attack linked to a property dispute.
On 25 January 2019 she died in Istanbul, where she had been living with her sister Rubina Yasmeen. Kidney failure. She had been on a ventilator for ten days. She was sixty-seven.
She witnessed the birth of Pakistani television and became one of its finest serious actresses. The screen remembered her long after the industry moved on.
A trendsetter, a fighter, a survivor, Queen of Melancholy on television and real life.
In 2021 on August 16 the Government of Pakistan named a street and intersection after her in Lahore.

I don't know how people remember books they have read or movies they have watched. I will be halfway through a book and marveling at my ability to predict plot twists only to realize I have already read it before.
Also, I am asleep at 10:30. Somehow still up and the sandman is in no mood to make an appearance any time soon.
I was today years old when I found out that cars no longer need to have a key inserted in the ignition to start. There is a crazy contraption that locks and unlocks it but is just sitting on the dashboard or in a bag and the car still works. WHOA
Been a few months since I deleted my old account and started anew. The last one almost had 10k followers. I pretty much shared the same stuff I do now but the followers are much less. Hence proven. Wimmen's accounts get more followers simply because they are wimmen.
