Practically all VFX workflows are incorporating AI, just not necessarily in the way people here expect. It's sourcing textures, references, previz, modeling, cleaning, roto, syncing. Aside from brute force tasks they're using hybrid tools to generate backgrounds, extras, and sometimes shots that may get modified. It saves endless man hours and compute time. It's generational shift tech, it's here, and giant productions pretending it's not is a temporary smokescreen. Not sure where it goes or how fast it gets there, but the irony is major studios and VFX companies are already sailing on that ship while low budget filmmakers are publicly whipped when they step their toes into a dinghy.

Hollywood isn't going anywhere. It's just a question of: are we going to continue to let the Canadians take all of these high-paying film jobs? Or are we going to help American blue collar workers get their slice of the pie? That's what the film tax credit is for.

The people responsible for flying planes into buildings on 9/11 in New York, are now the ones running New York City. Make it make sense.

“Everyone’s terrified, convinced the studios don’t need artists anymore. It’s the artist that doesn’t need the studios.” Yes! Every word of this. So well said. I love this video so much.

Chris Paul on the Clippers cutting him during his retirement season: “What’s interesting about that whole situation is, it’s probably one of the most disrespectful things that I’ve endured… I’ve been through a lot of wild stuff in my career, and having older kids and a wife who’s very tapped in, and they know the daily goings on as far as that team and that organization. Obviously I was upset, but my family, my people, everybody… I think just because of the investment we made in the team for as long as we have, and to see the way stuff was handled. What it lets you know is that no matter what you do or what you’ve done, nobody cares” via @DanielLubetzky, h/t @cptdankkk

It makes perfect sense that Ryan Reynolds' view of the 80's is the inverse of what normal people think. In 80's movies, bad guys were villains. Today, the bad guys are the heroes. Hollywood now bends over backwards to redeem wickedness and mental illness. Top Gun and St Thomas of Cruise represent the hero generation of cinema. Reynolds represents the anti-hero generation, and they are both byproducts of their own creations. Choose your path carefully, young man.
Ryan Reynolds says ’80s nostalgia “paves over all the trauma” of the “tumultuous” decade: “The 80s was a brutal, brutal time for people. It was a fucking mess and people forget that. It was a tremendous strife. Socio political tensions everywhere. We were still pretty fresh off a Cuban missile crisis, which was only 15-20 years before. It’s a tumultuous period, but you look back at it now and you’re like, ‘Oh, yeah. ‘Top Gun.’ Cocaine!’ Like, ‘No!’ It was really scary.” In Apple TV’s “Mayday,” Reynolds stars as a U.S. Navy pilot who builds an unlikely friendship with an eccentric ex-KGB agent (Kenneth Branagh) obsessed with ’80s American culture. wp.me/pc8uak-1lHH16

Stay till the end credits. Those hundreds of names aren’t the movie stars; they’re the electricians, carpenters, drivers, and makeup artists whose working-class jobs California has been shipping overseas. Our incentives are too small, and the bureaucracy is insane. BRING HOLLYWOOD HOME!

LFG!!! 🇺🇸
🚨 WOW! President Trump just met with movie legend Jon Voight and announces he's moving to pass Federal Tax Incentives to BRING BACK Hollywood "Congress should approve, immediately, a Federal Production Incentive to create Entertainment Jobs in America." SPENCER PRATT has also been advocating for federal action. LFG! "Jon, and many others in the Industry, are suggesting we do Federal Tax Incentives in order to Make our Movie and Television Production Business GREAT AGAIN, perhaps GREATER THAN EVER BEFORE!" "Hollywood is a Complete and Total Disaster! Despite the name, it is getting very little work. There is no incentive to be there, and it is hurting California very badly." "The amount of money spent on Tax Incentives will be made up tenfold by the money pouring into the Treasury’s coffers." "Meetings are being set up with the Leaders of both Parties in order to get this done. It should be Bipartisan, especially since so much money is being lost in California, and other largely Blue States." "I am going to suggest that Republicans and Democrats get together, and immediately craft Legislation to save the Movie, Television, and Entertainment Business in America." "It can be done quickly, accurately, efficiently and, importantly, will benefit ALL of America. What we watch on the Silver Screen should be made in what was once the Movie and Motion Picture Capital of the World. Let’s get thi"

Dear Zohran, This is why people don’t want you at the memorial. Those people on 9/11 didn’t just “die.” They were murdered. Murdered by radical Islamists who committed an act of terrorism. Terrorism that you refuse to condemn. Terrorism where you’ve unapologetically stood with people who said these people deserved it. Instead, you’ve made this event about your made up aunt. Instead, you and the rest of your DSA comrades have done everything in your power to shift the blame away from radical Islam. You acknowledge people died, but you won’t say why they died. Instead it’s “some people did something.” You, and everyone who voted for you, disgust me. New York has forgotten. Shame. Zeek
