Why is it that manufacturers of opioid drugs can be sued for damages but gun manufacturers cannot? Both products have caused deaths. Both, if used responsibly, may not cause death. One (drugs) has been forced to pay billions and the other (guns) has immunity. Why?

Ever seen a plastic straw stuck up a turtle’s nose? Plastic bags knotted around a kitten’s neck? Plastic six-pack rings wrapped around a dolphin’s mouth? This isn’t a liberal issue. This is a I-want-my-future-grandchildren-to-enjoy-a-clean-planet issue. Use a damn paper straw.

With all due respect, these comments should be repudiated and shunned by all parties. @TreasurerLoftis’ reference to students, who pay taxes, vote, and have a vested interest in the quality of the leadership at their institution is appalling. Further, the last time that I checked

This is the candidate for USC president that McMaster is pushing so hard. If this is what Caslen has to say about our campus, why would he consider the job now? I admire his military career. It’s just not enough to lead a major university with a majority female student body.

And the legislature couldn’t find the money to give teachers a living wage but had no problem finding tens of millions of dollars to give to a billionaire NFL team owner. Let’s pray our children grow up to be better than us.

It takes an especially evil ass to make death threats against an organization which serves people who have been raped and sexually assaulted.
The board will discuss whether to hold tomorrow's event after someone called in threats to Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands. free-times.com/news/local-an… via @FreeTimesSC

I wholeheartedly agree with this and was actually going to make it a part of my Senate platform. States are dropping the ball on paying teachers their worth. It is time for the federal government to step up, otherwise we will witness a national teacher shortage crisis! #JoinJaime

Need some motivation?
A year ago, no one in the country gave @JoeCunninghamSC a snowball’s chance at winning a House seat that hadn’t elected a Democrat in 40 years.
Tonight, he’s presiding over the US House of Representatives and Liz Cheney just had to call him “Mr. Speaker.”

Instead of a small section of wall for $5.7 billion, we could give 3.2 million public school teachers a huge raise and have money left over. We’d retain good teachers and improve the education of our children. A little bit of wall or millions of better lives? No contest.
