@LASchools oh the irony!!! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Maybe y’all should be DOING THIS FOR HOMEWORK!! .@LAUSDSup @Jackie4LAkids @lausdbd7 @nickmelvoin @Kelly4LASchools @ScottAtLAUSD @DrGeorgeMcKenna
Am I the only @UTLAnow member that finds it hysterical the district included this in their last minute hw packet to students? drive.google.com/file/d/1GM0… Is there a sympathizer in @LAUSDSup's cabinet? #UnionStrong #LAUSD @SEIULocal99 #WeWantaContract

I hope you heard what LAUSD parents had to say at the meeting today. They want transparency, trained engagement staff, and Primary Promise intervention for literacy support.

✊🏽 ✊🏾✊🏼STRIKE ANNOUNCEMENT: After a weekend of marathon bargaining, it is clear that OUSD still isn’t ready to get serious about reaching an agreement that will keep educators in Oakland and meet the needs of our students with increased mental health supports… (1/3)

One more thing about our contract victory: STRIKES WORK. The only reason Carvalho agreed to our gigantic package of demands is because he knew we - and SEIU - would strike again if we needed to.

I’m so proud of the @UTLAnow Bargaining Team & our whole membership! We won an amazing deal, and it’s because of our collective power. We also couldn’t have done it without our historic partnership with @SEIULocal99 during both of our contract campaigns. Here is a 🧵 of our wins:

Thank you for acknowledging this! – at Los Angeles, CA
The law is clear. Public Education Relations Board (PERB) decisions say that changing the academic calendar must be bargained with labor partners. Had the Board been properly advised, my vote would have been to protect the bargaining rights of our teachers. #LAUSD #BD2

.@LAUSDSup Today.. Session #32, why on Sunday? Because the issues on the table ARE that important and they goes beyond salary! GREAT working conditions lead to GREAT learning conditions and it’s too important that YOU DON’T IGNORE THIS! Many of us missing time with family and friends, our sacrifice is worth it. We don’t want to strike but we will if have to! @UTLAnow stays ready for our students and our communities!! @DrGeorgeMcKenna @Kelly4LASchools @RocioRivas1111 @nickmelvoin @Kelly4LASchools @ScottAtLAUSD @Jackie4LAkids

Why would Zipperman say pepper-spraying kids is ok? Why has @LAUSDSup stayed silent on this issue? 👀 We’re calling on Sup’t Carvalho & School Board to take action — remove pepper spray from the police, #DefundLASPD & fund Safe Passage programs,
LASPD Chief Zipperman said the officers were following policy even though school police are NOT supposed to pepper spray students. #StudentsDeserve leaders from Roosevelt were featured in this @KnockDotLA article talking bout the pepper spray incident!! knock-la.com/laspd-faces-bac…

.@LAUSDSup “The cost of the days is difficult to discern because the district has declined to release detailed information that The Times first requested three months ago. In a January presentation at a school board meeting — a month after the first acceleration days — officials said those two days cost $36 million. After public backlash over the costs, L.A. schools Supt. Alberto Carvalho announced that the actual cost was $11.6 million. The district, however, has declined to provide backup documentation to support the changed figures.” - LA TIMES @UTLAnow warned about this mismanagement of funds! This is what UNILATERAL, EGOCENTRIC decisions look like! @MiamiDadeISD knows this 💯 – at Monterey Park, CA

What do we do when the district won't stop committing unfair labor practices? Stand together! UTLA members across the district are boycotting unproductive faculty meetings to demand respect and for the district to bargain in good faith. ✊

gofundme.com/f/holdtusdaccou… ^--- this is his GoFundMe. If you could donate and/or share, even $5 makes an enormous difference. When people see donations rolling in, they tend to hop on board. ReTweeting with a personal comment is also very effective at recruiting support.
