You’re not a hostage. Nobody kidnapped you and forcing you to stay. This is a digital playground. You can just log off. A club is only as good as its members, and finding your people inside a big ecosystem takes time, taste, and work. You end up tying your identity to it. That’s your investment. Not the mods. Not the founders. Not the KOLs. Yours. If the ROI no longer matches what you put in, that’s a personal accounting problem. Nobody else gains more when it works. Most people want the glory when the room is hot. Fewer people want the responsibility when it cools off. I respect complaining when it actually comes from care. When your team hasn’t won in a decade, you start calling plays from the couch, demanding heads, writing essays about “the culture.” Fine. That’s fandom. What it is not is a contract that the world now owes you a silver platter because you were here first. There’s the new fan losing their mind over their first glizzy at the stadium. There’s the lifelong season ticket holder who has sat through rebuilds, blown leads, fake contenders. And still shows up knowing the difference between loving the team and acting like they own the franchise. Even losing teams cheer every touchdown and every field goal. That energy feeds players, feeds other fans, feeds the whole city. Entitlement feeds nothing. It just makes the veterans sound like they think tenure is a throne. Idk who needs to hear this but the world does not revolve around you. Presence is optional. Contribution is optional. Walking away is optional. What isn’t optional is remembering that you chose the seat. Bc you’ve already won games in it. You’ve already had seasons. Winning is a mentality. We’re still playing the long game.
