The home for conservatives
Popular opinion is fickle. Principles are final. The challenge for Conservatives today is to hold fast to our principles. When principles guide us, they can lead us to our greatest political successes.
As Reagan said in his time, “Our task now is not to sell a philosophy, but to make the majority of Americans, who already share that philosophy, see that modern conservatism offers them a political home.” Ronald Reagan (1977)🇺🇸

Alaska is trying to seize bush pilot Ken Jouppi’s $95,000 Cessna airplane over a 12 dollar 6-pack of Budweiser beer – no, really! I break down the latest with Samuel Gedge on this week’s episode of Court is Adjourned
At $181,000 per “poor” family, there must be impressive overhead somewhere in the poverty industry.
It’s happening.
A Massachusetts family says the state took custody of their teenage daughter after they refused to affirm her as a boy, citing their Catholic faith.
The parents allege a school counselor socially transitioned their daughter without their knowledge, then reported them to the Department of Children and Families.
Now the state has guardianship, and a restraining order prevents the teen's parents and older brother from contacting her.
A judge has temporarily blocked the state from administering high-dose testosterone as the family fights the case. The next court hearing is set for Oct. 29. | @LaurenGreenFox @AmericaNewsroom
This time, socialism will be really tried.
Attempts to restrict what Americans may do with their own property are not new. Open disdain for private property like the kind coming from the DSA, however, is new and contradicts one of America’s most foundational rights.
The Supreme Court can and should take two cases this term to reinforce property rights before they are eroded further or eradicated entirely.

The Fifth Circuit panel could hardly have been more hostile toward Louisiana’s effort to protect women and enforce its laws protecting unborn children.
Two of the three judges were appointed by Democratic presidents, and both pressed the argument advanced by the abortion-pill manufacturers that Louisiana lacks standing to challenge the FDA’s mail-order policy.
But Louisiana argues that abortion drugs are being mailed into the state in violation of its laws, leaving the state and its taxpayers to address the resulting medical and enforcement costs. If those direct injuries are insufficient to establish standing, who does have standing to challenge the policy?
Kudos to @AGLizMurrill and Solicitor General Ben Aguiñaga for defending the defenseless.
State-sponsored racism update.
Prof. @JoshMBlackman, Professor of Law at South Texas College of Law Houston, discusses DEI programming in CLE training during yesterday's webinar:
“I think one of the most pernicious aspects of DEI programming is that it is not just sitting here and listening… the idea that we live in a structurally racist society and the government is saying this is the truth, it is basically thought control, and if you disagree with or refuse to participate in it, you are then denied credit by the state… I do think this is a form of compelled speech, it’s a form of compelled indoctrination.”
“While big businesses have the resources to pay K Street to lobby for tariff carve-outs, families and small businesses are left to pay the full tariff tax, distorting the free-enterprise system that makes America great.” Rachel Greszler
