Their processing is terrible on all cameras but the main and telephoto are using so much better sensors and optics that they rely on it far less. Apple mostly chooses to leave their UW images a bit soft, which I greatly prefer. Main and UW shots from my 17 Pro Max today.

Same. Even better on M6 (roughly 20% raster improvement over M5 but almost 30% in Blender). And that chip didn’t get the huge memory bandwidth boost of the A20 Pro, so it’s probably a bit underutilized for Path Tracing. M7 with a wider bus and LPDDR6 could go crazy.

#Xiaomi18ProMax has some wild differences to the reference device scores of the #Snapdragon #8EliteExtremeGen6. An almost 10% difference in Single Core and even higher than that for Multi Core results. This is way beyond any reasonable margin of error.

VR is literally in the name. They only have three hours of battery life. They are huge in comparison to normal glasses and the compute/ battery puck is also too big for day to day activities.

I think Apple has a killer opportunity for the next generation of Vision Pro if they embrace a Compute Puck setup. They pushed the industry towards embracing separate batteries and now the market has moved a step further. Not sure how feasible it would be but it’d be awesome if…

I know there will be a light blocker available for the new Meta VR Glasses but on Gurman’s face they just look like all the light of the universe still reaches your eyes 😅
