Satellite image of the SortebrΓ¦ glacier in eastern Greenland. It is shaped like the character for pi. The shape of pi is made from a wavy horizontal glacier on top and two others that form β€˜legs’ below. The glaciers are white-gray ice with stripes and flows. The surrounding landscape is mountainous and brown with white snow-covered areas.

This temporary lake in Death Valley is extending its stay. Rain from a potent atmospheric river filled up the Badwater Basin this month. These enhanced-color #Landsat images show a shallow lake several kilometers across, with water emphasized in blue. go.nasa.gov/42PdjbK
