As you take in these images, remember: These are not only zionist atrocities. These are **American atrocities**. The fighter jets, the 2000-pound bombs, the guided missiles--we made them, here. If you say you are not part of that American "we," then prove it: with your actions.

Signal serves US imperialism, as funders intended. Here is Signal prez @mer__edith posing with @RushanAbbas, who thanked Signal for its services. Abbas is a former Guantamano Bay prison interrogator/translator who was part of Bush's "War on terror"

Questions for our movements:
Is it good to have the Signal Foundation, one central and wasteful US-based organization – connected to the state, dependent on corporations like Google and Amazon, and costing $50 million per year – run our digital communications platform?
A thread on how Signal (@signalapp) is an asset for the state and a tool for US imperialism. It's essential our movements take a critical look at how the app runs, the companies it depends on, and the people behind it. The truth has been buried by Signal's propaganda.
Radical action requires relationships. What communication methods are best for building community, deepening our relationships to one another, grounding us in a sense of place? Sometimes “low tech” methods such as phone trees can be better than impersonal digital messaging.

Signal could have reduced its dependence on Google but didn't. Despite requests from many users, Signal hasn’t supported the inclusion of its app on F-Droid, the open source alternative to Google's store (which threatens Google's hegemony)
Signal's great PR gives users a false sense of security by constantly bragging about "end-to-end encryption." But many steps before or after encryption are insecure. Most devices are highly vulnerable. Read our article for more: counterpunch.org/2025/03/07/…
