As a man who has worked on games that aim for photorealism, it may seem contradictory for me to say this, but I donβt necessarily believe that striving for photorealism is the only right approach; even if you do aim for photorealism, I think you should still have your own style.

Todayβs information regarding Marathonβs seasonal model changing and the delay of the content has been a, well to put it bluntly a shitstorm.
Itβs been received with disappointment, frustration, and doomerism and while I share in being disappointed and even concerned, I am not dooming. Not yet, even when sometimes I wonder if I should.
What we were told is that basically everything thatβs coming in this update is basically everything that the community has been outspoken about. A dedicated and permanent PvE mode, TDM arena PvP, more depth into PvPvE the base extraction experience, a social hub/firing range.
Everything so far that we have been jumping up and down for the team at Bungie has announced today that we will be receiving in December, and that is the reason I will not doom and will not agree with your dooming. I donβt care how right you think you are for doing so I will not participate in it.
However, let me be very honest with you. I am both extremely excited for these changes, but I am extremely concerned about Marathon post March. Iβm concerned about Marathon right now, but no matter what I will be a part of it.
The thing Iβve learned about having a platform and sharing this space with other similar sized accounts is that some of them will grift and abandon the second they donβt see something as profitable to them, the second they feel the breeze go into a different direction.
I am not one of those people. I care about this game, I care about the people who make and develop this game, and I care about the community for this game that Iβve been able to be a part of and to be able to engage with all of you with the platform you have given me, Iβm forever grateful for that.
There are other games to play right now. If youβre feeling doomed, if you feel like itβs over, take a break and play something different and come back when you are ready or reassess whether you actually enjoy this game or not. Itβs fine and healthy to step away when youβre upset.
Just know that no matter the future of Marathon, I will be here for as long as I am able to be. Whether life gets in the way or the servers are forever taken offline, I will have to be forced to stop playing.

Genuinely... what is going on at Sony. disaster after disaster, huge L after L. They were my favorite gaming company throughout the PS4 generation but genuinely, how do you lose EVERYONE this fast? Meanwhile, XBOX is taking full advantage of this and priming a major comeback next generation. A literal generational fumble happening at Sony.

The argument against the FF7R trilogy that states they just split the original game into 3 parts and sold each one for 70 bucks is so disingenuous and an insult the the amount of heart, soul and work square enix and the cast have put into each game so far.

There was a handful of us working on the graffiti of Marathon. It eventually opened up to the rest of the art team and imo it needed to to get the variety. Dima led the team with this one!
