Lately, I’ve had a lot on my mind and heart about our schools, our children, and the future we’re preparing them for. I’ve been reading, studying, writing, praying, and wrestling with one question: As A.I. becomes more powerful, what becomes even more important about being human? How do we help students think, connect, create, adapt, exercise judgment, and build relationships in a world none of us grew up in? And how do we support the educators trying to prepare them for that future while carrying so much themselves? Somewhere in that process, I became convinced of something: I have more I need to say. Years ago, one of my teachers told me she saw herself as a Trojan Horse. Her mission wasn't to deceive—it was to help students like me get through gates we didn't know how to open on our own.
