🎙️Canada's Controlled Demolition Ep. 164 with @BitcoinBrains & @thesovereignceo Canada is being dismantled so fast it feels like a controlled demolition, a showcase of where Agenda 2030 wants to take the West. The country people once dreamed of moving to, with four people per square kilometer and nice neighbours, seems unrecognizable today. Karla Treadway is a writer, speaker, and host of the Sovereign Sphere podcast, based in Ontario, where she homesteads. Dave Bradley is a Bitcoin OG, cofounder of Bull-Bitcoin and a strong Alberta independence advocate based in Calgary. Both have been on the show before, both are staying and fighting. Important information on one of the two legal battles led by BULLBITCOIN.COM in its fight against DAC8 and the mass surveillance of cryptoasset users. You all know that BULLBITCOIN.COM initiated a legal challenge against the Council of State in February 2026 to contest the application of DAC8 in France. This announcement was made in June 2026 at the BTCPrague conference, and the details of the challenge are available on DAC8.COM What you didn't know is that we had also initiated a second challenge in August 2026. This challenge requested the immediate suspension of the decree implementing DAC8 in France. It is important to understand that this challenge, a summary suspension proceeding, is different from the first challenge contesting the very legality of the decree. It was about requesting the emergency suspension of the DAC8 decree in question pending a ruling on the merits, on the grounds that its application could cause irreparable harm. We clearly and unequivocally demonstrated that the implementation of DAC8 in France would pose a real and imminent danger to the security of crypto holders and their loved ones, and that there therefore exists a situation of urgency and serious harm justifying the immediate suspension of the decree. The concentration of data, including the physical addresses and the amount of crypto transaction data of users, in a database shared with all the tax authorities of the EU member states, represents a significant risk of leakage with disastrous consequences such as their exploitation by criminals to kidnap, mutilate, and extort holders or their loved ones. We regret to announce to you today that this summary suspension proceeding has been rejected by the Council of State. However, this refusal in no way means that the Council of State rejects our substantive arguments, and concerns only the grounds of urgency. Moreover, the absence of comment on the substantive arguments leads us to presume that the Council of State considers our approach to be well-founded. Our legal proceedings for the complete annulment of the DAC8 decree is still ongoing, and we are very confident of winning it. Nevertheless, we are dismayed by the Council of State's response, which can be summed up as follows: “The applicant companies [Bull Bitcoin and Paymium] also fail to establish how the storage of this data within a register centralizing all transaction data of all residents of EU member states would be likely to heighten the risk that it be compromised, especially since, in any event, the mere possibility of a risk, the probability of which is very low, cannot constitute a situation of urgency." Yet, the DGFIP (French tax authorities) itself declared, in February 2026, during parliamentary discussions on the creation of a crypto-asset portfolio declaration, that “a generalized declaration of these [crypto-asset] portfolios would lead to the centralization of highly sensitive data, such as the identity of holders and the value of their assets” and that “in a context of frequent cyberattacks against large databases, this information would become a prime target for hackers, with risks of fraud.” Our demonstration of urgency is supported by the facts, by French and international expertise, and by common sense. Violent crimes targeting crypto holders and their loved ones, as well as data leaks held by government institutions that make them possible in the first place, are becoming increasingly serious and frequent. You only need to read the news in France to reach the same conclusion. In the coming days, we will publish the details of our summary proceeding, including supporting documents and arguments, so that you can judge for yourself the merits and factual basis of our demonstration. We are waging this war against mass surveillance on multiple fronts and in multiple countries. We have won battles and suffered setbacks. This minor defeat only strengthens our determination.

Liberals: “Look what climate change has done!” Um... “Nope. Look what a government that has no plan for fire control has done; no clear cuts around populated areas, no brush clearing, no emergency irrigation pumps from the lake, and no fleet of water bombers…has done." BULL created a program years ago called The Mission, for our supports that wanted to contribute. If you want a BULL referral code, you need to earn it, you need to apply, and you need to convince us. We don't let everyone in. One of my greatest joys working at BULL is reading the application forms coming in my inbox. I think people do not expect to be asked to justify themselves to get a referral code, and it makes them stop and think why they are so devoted to Bitcoin in the first place. Many of the applications are long and passionate. The rewards are great: we give you 0.5% referral on the entire volume you bring our way, and you get a 0.25% discount on the price of Bitcoin. We do not take donations, but we'll gladly take your business and any clients you send our way! mission.bullbitcoin.com

In Europe, DAC8 has turned “Know Your Customer” into “Kill Your Customer.” Today, Bull Bitcoin is officially opening the first legal front against DAC8. We have brought a case before France’s Conseil d’État, the country’s highest administrative court, to strike down the decree implementing DAC8 in French law. Since January 1, 2026, DAC8 has required crypto-asset service providers to systematically collect user and transaction data and subsequently report it to national tax authorities. These authorities will automatically exchange this information across the European Union and with tax administrations in other participating countries around the world. The result is a massive international financial-data honeypot linking people’s legal identities, home addresses and crypto activity, including information with no relevance whatsoever to taxation. This is grossly disproportionate and poses a serious threat to the physical safety of crypto holders and their families. Until now, most customer data remained within each crypto-asset service provider unless a suspicious transaction was reported or a competent authority made a lawful request. DAC8 replaces this model with the systematic reporting and cross-border sharing of highly sensitive financial information. The more authorities, civil servants, contractors, systems and foreign jurisdictions that have access to this data, the greater the risk that it will eventually be leaked, stolen, illegally accessed or sold to criminal organizations. At the same time, kidnappings and violent attacks against crypto holders and their families are rising, with leaked personal and financial data increasingly being used to identify and target victims. France has already suffered numerous breaches of highly sensitive government and financial databases. Given enough time, a database of this scale is almost certain to be breached. When that happens, criminal organizations will gain a ready-made map of who to target and where to find them. This is not responsible financial oversight. It is a recipe for disaster. We filed our initial application before the Conseil d'État on February 24, 2026, followed by a substantive legal brief setting out the full grounds of our case. This is not a symbolic gesture. It is a serious legal action, grounded in law and handled by experienced legal professionals. We are seeking the outright annulment of the French decree implementing DAC8’s crypto-asset reporting regime, on the grounds that automated mass financial-data collection violates fundamental human rights. If necessary, we are prepared to take this fight before the Court of Justice of the European Union and the French Constitutional Council. A victory in France could establish an important judicial precedent and provide a blueprint for other European actors seeking to fight DAC8 in their own countries. Someone has to draw a line in the sand. Bull Bitcoin is willing to do it. In the video, Bull Bitcoin founder @francispouliot_ takes the stage at @BTCPrague to expose the threat DAC8 poses to the privacy and physical safety of crypto holders and explain why Bull Bitcoin has decided to lead this fight. Alongside this legal challenge, we are launching STOP DAC8: a complete, fully sourced resource for citizens, journalists and policymakers. More info 👇

My attempt to protect users from scam apps on the @AppStore has gotten my Apple Developer account flagged for termination - ironically, for "dishonest activity". Unless it's reversed by June 30, all new installs of Sparrow Wallet will fail, and development on macOS will end. The context: since 2023, more than a dozen fake "Sparrow" apps have appeared on the App Store, as recently as April this year. Users have contacted me after losing their savings, in some cases their life savings, to these impersonators. I'm the developer of the real Sparrow Wallet, a desktop app, and I hold the registered US trademarks for the name and logo. I have publicly warned @Apple and the community about these fake apps from early 2024, but they keep appearing. The app @Apple flagged was a placeholder that was never published. Its only purpose was to warn users that Sparrow is desktop-only and that other "Sparrow" apps aren't mine. This approach may have been misguided, but there was nothing dishonest about it. I'm confident this is an automated misclassification that Apple would reverse on review - but I may be terminated before a human ever looks at my appeal. The cost would fall on @Apple's own users: blocked installs and no updates for a tool people rely on, which opens the door for more fakes. If you value Sparrow, a repost would help. @AppleSupport
Didn’t work. App (with the screens below) was rejected for having “placeholder content” and only “demonstrating a concept”.

I'm the CRO of @Sync, Canada's end-to-end encrypted cloud storage provider, and Canada's Bill C-22 stands to cause immeasurable harm to the rights of Canadian citizens, and an industry that Canada should be leading in the technology sector. This bill will cause an exodus of companies, investment, and talent and will not make Canadians any safer. This is a mass government surveillance bill that aims to make privacy companies and people agents of the state. Canada already has methods to collect data, through legal means and using warrants. This goes against everything @Sync stands for and we will continue to fight against this bill and we are preparing additional measures should this misguided bill come to pass. @mgeist @JCCFCanada @MelissaLMRogers @Tablesalt13

Bill C-22 is facing growing opposition from across the political and tech spectrum. Signal says it could leave Canada. Shopify CEO Tobi Lütke calls the bill “a huge mistake.” Apple, Meta, NordVPN, Windscribe, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, and even U.S. Congressional leaders are raising alarms about privacy, cybersecurity, and mass surveillance risks. thebureau.news/p/bill-c-22-s…

‼️MAJOR BREAKING: This has exploded open! A NEW full list of tech companies speaking out against Carney's bill C-22, with many threatening to EXIT Canada entirely. Some are CANADIAN companies! 👇🏼👇🏼 Meta (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp): Opposes Part 2, warning it could force backdoors or spyware installation. Testified before Parliament. The bill would “conscript private companies into service as an arm of the government surveillance apparatus.” Apple: publicly warned the bill could force encryption backdoors and undermine device security. Quote: “This legislation could allow the Canadian government to force companies to break encryption by inserting backdoors into their products—something Apple will never do.” Windscribe (Canadian VPN provider): Joins Signal and threatens to relocate its headquarters or follow suit. Quote: “We won’t be far behind if C-22 passes. In its current state, VPNs would almost certainly require us to log identifying user data. Shopify CEO Tobi Lütke: Vocal Canadian tech leader warning of broader economic damage. Quotes (on X): “C-22 is looking like a huge mistake. It worries me a great deal. There is so much nonsense in there that it may well end up dealing a death blow to Canadian tech viability.” Signal: VP Udbhav Tiwari said they would rather pull out of Canada entirely than compromise end-to-end encryption and privacy promises to users. NordVPN: Warned they would "remove our presence from Canadian jurisdiction" before complying, to protect their no-logs policy and encryption. The Chair of the the US House Judiciary Committee and Chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee are now also investigating.

C-22 must be scrapped.
Millions of Canadians use Signal, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger and everyone needs to understand that C-22 will give gov’t the ability to force these companies to create access to those systems.
