I'm thrilled to be hosting @LloydTabb, founder of Looker, for a fireside chat on Monday evening, June 10th at Stable Cafe in SF.
Lloyd is now joining Meta as he pursues his latest creation: a "better SQL" called @MalloyDev.
"Many attempts at building a better SQL have failed... If we can solve Meta’s data problems with Malloy, we can likely solve anyone’s."
We'll be discussing lessons learned from scaling Looker, and what inspired his big hairy, audacious goal to replace SQL. (If anyone can pull it off, it's Lloyd).

I spent a few hours learning Malloy with a large set of data that I frequently query with SQL. I can honestly say I now ask and answer 10x as many questions that would have been too annoying to do via SQL.
Of all of the SQL enhancements/replacements, I feel like this one could really take off. Kudos to the @MalloyDev team on this.
Also, the VS Code integration is fantastic and the getting started documentation made it easy to pick up.
