It’s her little shoes with perfectly tied laces by a mother who loved her that gets me. Now they’re both gone.
A horrific Russian strike in the Kharkiv region. A “shahed” struck people directly – in a park near an ordinary café. Pure atrocity. Six people were killed, including children. A little girl was killed in a stroller – her name was Angelina, she was just over a year old, born in August 2025… Her mother’s name was Inna. She died in the hospital… Another girl who was killed was 11 years old. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Another 14 people were injured, including six more children.
I am grateful to everyone who supports Ukraine under these circumstances and helps us shoot down “shaheds,” shoot down missiles, and stop Russian assaults. These are horrific photos, but behind them are shattered lives and the truth about this war. Lives must be protected. Ukraine needs air defense. You can't think about making money with Russia as long as it continues its asinine war. We ask that sanctions on Russia stay in place as long as the killings continue. We ask America to be strong, and we ask it to apply the Lindsey Graham law. We ask Europe to continue its support. We ask that everything possible be done to bring peace and guarantee security. Ukraine wants peace. It is Russia that has insisted on continuing the killing all this time. The world has enough strength to stop the war. That strength must finally be used – against the murderers.

This is on you, MAGA.
This dead child is on you.
Oh, you’ll bluster and talk trash, but your Dear Leader Trump serves with the murderers in Moscow.
I’d tell you to feel shame, but your souls are so dead you’ll laugh it off.

"Do your own research," they said.
So I did
28 years, a medical degree, a PhD, and three postgraduate diplomas in infectious diseases later, I conclude that vaccines save millions of lives and do not cause autism.
This is similar to how we use AI (LLMs) in @TiloresHQ for entity resolution. Use the AI to configure the deterministic (or fuzzy) rules, which are confirmed by humans. Also works for fine-tuning.
You can also use AI for the subjective <1% of pair matches that miss rules. – at Berlin, Germany
How can you trust probabilistic AI in a high stakes domain like customs compliance?
At @flexport our answer is to use the LLMs to write code, which once signed off on by human experts runs deterministically every time.
I explain how we're using this approach in our new business rules engine for handling customs compliance automation.
Why does @Confluence take so long to export a page as pdf? Anything else take like a second - Confluence takes 40s, or sometimes (like right now) just never completes.

What’s with these guys and restaurant reservations? What’s this market, $30M a year? Why is every AI sales pitch now obsessed with restaurant reservations? how many people are struggling with this problem on a weekly basis? A few thousand at most? Enough with the reservations!

Nick Candy and Holly Valance. Britain’s most expensive house. A £265m sale.
Usual consequence: £32m of stamp duty.
But five small flats were included in the sale. By an extraordinary happy accident, that cut the tax by £18.5m.
The curious sale of Nick Candy’s mansion
A 🧵:
Was "primitives" always a used term in software product development, or have LLMs just decided it should be used?

Hi @patrickc - Judith from @langdock here. We just crossed €50m ARR and flipped from a US Inc -> European SE.
We want Germany to make starting and running companies easier (first on the list: compulsory notarization).
At the same time, building a big company from here is absolutely possible and we intend to prove it. The SE is actually a good structure, but it's not an option for founders who are just starting out. That's why we are big supporters of @euinc.
We're bullish on Germany - and bullish we can do even better. Both can be true at the same time. Happy to chat more.
I'm curious to read other stories from people who've scaled new businesses in Europe. (And if your experience has been positive, that's also useful to hear.) Feel free to email me: [email protected].

Locals allege the dog killed the cafe cat and attacked animals; Kellerman denies, saying a cat attacked her. It is owner-trained. She first sued the wrong body, costing £7k unrecovered via legal aid. Community raised over £50k crowdfunding.

This is a genuine outrage. She’s a disgrace, and it’s an utter disgrace that she’s been given Legal Aid for this.

Now feels like an appropriate time for me to re-share my "How complicated can it be to start a German company" article: medium.com/@major-grooves/ju…
This is 100% the German notary problem here.👇
Founders turning up for a day of notary speed reading is at worst an inconvenience.
US or UK investors being told they have to go to an embassy to notarise and apostille a PoA to convert a $10k SAFE into equity - that is a blocker!
Really convinced that @christianmiele is wrong here!
“... But at the same time, I feel like no generational company or exceptional founder ever failed because of notary meetings…”
I agree that for a founder, spending 10 hours at a notary and paying €30k on a €10M round is not the biggest challenge. But the second- and third-order effects are much worse:
(1) Every cap table change in a German GmbH has to be notarized, meaning every shareholder technically has to show up in-person at the notary. You can use a POA, but that also needs to be notarized and, for foreign investors, often apostilled. In some jurisdictions, that means going to an embassy. A US investor will do this exacatly once, and next time tell the German founder to set up a Delaware C-Corp.
(2) More German and European founders are doing exactly that: setting up Delaware C-Corps or UK Ltds. Those are no longer German companies. They attract US investors and, if successful, are far more likely to IPO in the US. The founders may still be German, but they’re building another US unicorn, not a German one.
I think our industry still massively underestimates the long-term damage this does to Germany and Europe.
