My first job in news was as @amanpour’s intern. I was in awe of her, but she made me feel seen from day one. She sought my thoughts in editorial mtgs & taught me lessons in journalistic integrity I carry today.
She helped shape the journalist I became. I’ll always be grateful.

I am so grateful to Bloomberg News for an incredible six-year run, where I received so many fabulous and life-changing opportunities.
It was a very hard place to leave, and I miss all of my kind and whipsmart colleagues!
LIFE NEWS: I'm joining the @washingtonpost to cover the last two years of President Trump's term and Republicans in the 2028 campaign.
The Post has been on an incredible, scoopy run lately. I can't wait to join the scrappy, talented crew there. (+ some very smart editors!)

Every second, a story unfolds. Every week, a deeper understanding.
New season of 60 Minutes starts Sunday.
I am so sad to report that Roger Simon died early this morning. He had been ill for some months but went peacefully at the end. He was a brilliant journalist, a gifted columnist, the author of many books about presidential campaigns and other things. He was also wickedly funny. He was courageous in the face of adversity that befell him more than a dozen years ago. So much to be admired. He was Chicago born and worked there and in Baltimore before closing out his remarkable career in Washington, lastly at Politico. He and I met as college journalists and he and his wife Marcia became the dearest of friends with my wife Nancy and me for 60 years. I mourn his loss and know so many others will too. RIP, Friend.

This is quite special.
The story behind an iconic photo and the experience of those in the room.
On the morning of September 11, 2001, President George W. Bush was visiting an elementary school classroom in Sarasota, Fla., when his chief of staff, Andrew Card, informed him that America was under attack.
Card revisits the Emma E. Booker Elementary School with @MajorCBS, and talks about a singular moment, captured in an iconic photograph.

This is an exceptional look at the early moments of 9/11 - and the challenge of informing the president of the attacks in front of young children. Kudos to @MajorCBS for going back:

An apt day to remember that Dolly Parton once recorded a cover of Stairway to Heaven - and, in defiance of every moral law in the universe, she absolutely owned it.

Sad to hear the news about Billy Ray Smith. The Scott & BR Show is what brought me to San Diego and changed my life forever.
We will always remember that booming laugh and handshakes you’d feel for hours.
Rest in peace, BR.
