Panic in the Kremlin: Putin is afraid of a possible coup โ The Telegraph
The Russian FSB has accused former oligarch Mikhail Khodorkovsky and 22 members of the Anti-War Committee of attempting a coup. Analysts see this as a sign of fear and vulnerability of the Putin regime, which is under pressure from economic problems, sanctions, and protest sentiments.
According to The Telegraph, the Russian security service stated that the Anti-War Committee, created to oppose the war against Ukraine, is allegedly preparing a "violent seizure of power."
Khodorkovsky himself, who is exiled in London, called this accusation "a lie." Experts say the Kremlin is showing signs of paranoia and nervously searching for enemies.
"This tells us that the Kremlin is panicking. Putin is looking for enemies to try to strengthen his regime," explained John Herbst, director of the Eurasia Center at the Atlantic Council.
