“I think we really nailed a strange sense of place… sort of Douglas Adams meets David Lynch, maybe?” For @FanbyteMedia, I spoke to @DarbyMcDevitt and @MagicalTimeBean about the development of The Sims 2 on Nintendo DS and its “cursed” status online! 🛸 fanbyte.com/games/features/h…

How a Sims 2 Port Turned Into a Silent Hill Game for Kids

The 2000s was the Wild West for wacky spin-offs with a port of The Sims 2 for Nintendo DS feeling more like Silent Hill than a social simulator.

Since I still get occasional emails from fans asking how things are going, I figured I would post an update. There have been several setbacks since 2014 (common for indie development) but the biggest has been coming down with CFS/ME, which has reduced my output by about 90%.

I'm trying to figure out a sustainable daily pace but it's frustrating. This is where I would tell you to not put off your goals, etc. But I also want to put in a word for regularly evaluating the feasibility of your current goals, and when it might be time to adjust your course.

I don't know what my course adjustment is yet. I really want to have something to show everyone, and I really appreciate all the kind words from fans of my past projects. We'll see what happens. Thanks everyone for your support.

I know I've been off Twitter for quite a while, but I am still making games. Games are hard! The last year has been full of ups and downs, as I'm sure it has been for everyone, but I'm not out of the game. If you want to drop me a line and say hi: magicaltimebean.com/contact/
