Year after year I tell you all that Weltman is complete trash and is wasting years of lives with his incompetence. Does anyone still doubt this after tonight? MIN is miles ahead of us. It's not even close. This team is looking at 0-5 or 1-4 unless miracles occur.

Positive note. I think @DanteMagic is the right man for the job and was great. I still miss the heck out of @steelemagic and always will, but Dante feels like the worthy successor. How can you not root for a guy who was killing it in those old SL games back in the day?

Only game 1, but we have watched these players for years now and know what they bring to the table. Minny game is pivotal, our first 5 games are very tough and we could be looking at 1-4 or 0-5 start if we don't come out and beat the Wolves at home. @NYK will be a tough one.

Not a bad game, would have been a blowout with a weaker coach. But a coach can only fix so much. The roster build is still not there. Fantastic game from Paolo and Franz though. They need the right guys around them, especially at the 1.

This game illustrates why we need a PG. Too many TOs from Franz and Paolo. They are not supposed to be primaries. Franz got gassed by 4th and was shooting line drives. He played great defense, but asking him to beat a press and bring the ball up is asking too much.

Obviously much better play tonight with Bane and Suggs in there. The ball moved a lot better and Paolo established himself in the paint. If they can consistently play this way night after night, they may have something. Consistency has been an issue with this team. Eyes on that.

The Magic declining on AB shows they are expecting to see break out play from some core players and others to be traded by next summer. Weltman has pinned himself in and now has to risk taking a bad deal to free up cap space and keep AB (If he takes another step this season).

Last nights game showed how deeply engrained these guys are with their ISO and ball stopping mentality. It will take a long time to coach it out, and I predict some key players may never get it. Good news, it's just game 2 of preseason, but it is still concerning.

Vuc will hurt on defense but will be a boost for the bench offense. You can deploy him strategically, run physical and big with Goga when leading and put in Vuc for some firepower at the 5. I love Cain, and think he will be a key bench contributor this season.

2/2 Sweeney schemes open looks, but more importantly, the timing of them allows the shooter to be set and in rhythm, which is a huge piece of this. I believe this will boost our shooting rate, but don't expect that high of a 3p% every game, of course.

I like what I saw last night, kind of. Franz as fulltime handler is a preseason thing while Suggs and AB are out. Didnt like the team lapsing and losing a big lead on a young team. It is preseason though, so not a huge deal. 1/2

From lottery pick to 2 way deal in 3 years. This was a wasted pick by Weltman and it was obvious the second it happened.

I need to understand why Weltman could not have traded down from 11 and then drafted Jett. He would have been there. He is limited as an athlete. Weltmans argument is that he was hurt, but that doesn't really excite me considering how Okeke panned out.

ATL trade shows how aggressive you need to be as a GM if you want to build a contending team. They will have 40M free next summer to offer to a star who wants the $$ and pieces in place around him. They also have their own homegrown one in Johnson, plus a ton of shooting.

It was a great run, but a 51 year sportscasting career comes to an end. Thanks to all who played a part along the way, at WJHG Panama City and WLOS Asheville, at Western Carolina U, and at Florida, which was a career changing opportunity with the Gators.

Well after 1 game, we all can see Penda has improved his shooting and physique. Jace was fairly solid with the ball, but still questionable on defense at times. Nelson unfortunately looks headed to Lakeland. But let's see how it pans out over the next few games.

This is an extremely important Summer League for the team. We simply must see a big leap from Jace, and Nelson needs to show us something special. Which is unfair to say to a 2nd round pick, but this is the situation the roster is in, due to contract mismanagement.

Weltman sat on his hands this offseason, mainly due to being hamstrung by trades and contracts he orchestrated. There is no clear path out of this besides hoping for massive internal improvements. Max players are very tough to trade now unless they are elite. See Jalen Brown.

I'm rooting for Nelson to make the rotation. Really interested in if he can make a physical impact in summer league. The best case imo is he can be our version of Isiah Stewart. Not an easy ask, but we need some luck here.
