“Today’s announcement is an important step forward for children’s health and wellbeing. Through our work with schools, we see first-hand the difference a nutritious breakfast can make to how children start their day. Dedicated breakfast standards will help ensure more children have access to healthy, nutritious food from the moment they arrive at school, and we welcome the Government’s commitment to getting this right.” utm.io/usR4k

Scottish exam results show a 16 percentage point attainment gap between the most and least disadvantaged students. In our latest blog, we explore why school breakfast provision must be part of the solution: brnw.ch/21x4HWI #ExamResults #SchoolBreakfasts

Congratulations @LucyMPowell on your appointment as Education Secretary! 🥳 We’ve been proud to work with @educationgovuk to support the introduction of the #FreeBreakfastClubProgramme and ensure every child can start their day nourished, empowered, able to thrive and ready to learn. 🥣🍎 But while the #FreeBreakfastClubProgramme is a landmark step forward for primary-aged pupils, secondary-aged pupils are still missing out on the key benefits that school breakfast provision can provide: ✅ 91% of our partner schools say it supports children and young people’s health and wellbeing. ✅ 93% say it helps build school culture and community with 95% telling us it helps children and young people feel like they belong. ✅ It also supports skills development and attainment, helping reduce the risk of young people becoming NEET and laying the foundations for future employment opportunities. As you take up your new role, we look forward to working with you and your Department to ensure that every child and young person across the country can access and enjoy the benefits of a healthy school breakfast. 💪

Congratulations @YvetteCooperMP on your appointment as Health Secretary 🥳 At Magic Breakfast, we know the benefits of school breakfast provision go beyond food to support improved health and wellbeing outcomes for children and young people. Our research shows: ✅ A nutritious school breakfast can provide a third of a child’s daily nutritional intake. ✅ 91% of our partner schools say school breakfast improves mental health & wellbeing. ✅ Preventative interventions like school breakfast can ease pressures on health and social care services including the NHS and CAMHS. We’re excited to work with you and your team to realise these benefits for children and young people across the country for years to come. 💪

Congratulations @JohnHealey_MP on your appointment as Chancellor! 🥳 At Magic Breakfast, we’re keen to support you in your role to deliver good growth to every postcode. And a key part of this is through school breakfast provision. 🥣🍎 Our research shows that alongside supporting household budgets, schools and communities, for every £1 invested in school breakfasts, it can return £50 to the economy. 📈💷 That’s why we’re urging you to continue the important work of Government to roll out the #FreeBreakfastClubProgramme so as many children across the country can benefit. 💪

Congratulations @andyburnham on your appointment as the new Prime Minister! 🥳 We’ve been delighted by the @UKLabour Government’s introduction of the #FreeBreakfastClubProgramme which will mean every primary-aged pupil can start their day nourished, empowered and able to thrive.🥣🍎 But while this is a landmark step forward, secondary-aged pupils are still missing out. As a cost-effective and preventative solution that can empower children, families and communities to thrive, school breakfast provision can also support young people’s mental health and wellbeing, enabling them to develop the skills and confidence to support their future employment opportunities. We look forward to working with you & your new Government to see this ambition become a reality for every child and young person across the country. 💪

We're thrilled to be shortlisted for Large Charity of the Year at the #ThirdSectorAwards 2026. Last year was a landmark year for our charity as we made a difference to more than 350,000 children and young people every school day across England and Scotland. We’re incredibly grateful to our team, schools, partners, and supporters who all help us work towards a UK where every child is nourished, empowered, and thriving. 🧡

Answer: Regularly missing breakfast can mean achieving nearly two grades lower at GCSE. 📝 When it comes to exams, breakfast is essential. Without it, focus slips, stress rises, and all that hard work is harder to show on the page. Too many young people are be held back by hunger, not ability. 🍽️ Donate today to make sure every student has the chance to show their true potential. utm.guru/uonwK #GCSEs #ALevels #ExamPrep

It’s easy to focus on the visible signs of morning hunger, like children feeling tired, struggling to concentrate, or starting school without the energy they need to thrive. But these are symptoms, not the cause. Morning hunger doesn’t happen for just one reason. It’s caused by a mix of pressures, from national policy to local support systems and the challenges families face at home. If we want lasting change, we have to address the root causes and break the link between systems and the hunger children face each morning. This will improve children and young peoples’ lives far beyond breakfast. To find out how – read our full report! utm.io/uqHmT #NourishingFutures #ChildHunger #FoodInsecurity #ChildPoverty

We welcome the UK Government's investment in enrichment for children and young people 🎉 We know the power that enrichment opportunities can bring to support young people's skills development, confidence and access to opportunity. This investment will make a real difference for children across the country - ensuring that every child is empowered and able to thrive, in school, and beyond. 🚀 Over half of Magic Breakfast partner schools offer enrichment activities alongside breakfast: ✅ The most popular activities are arts & crafts (41%), reading (37%) and sports (29%). ✅67% of schools told us these activities help increase the number of pupils eating breakfast. ✅ One partner school told us, "Apart from the food, pupils enjoy spending time with their friends...and taking part in sporting and other enrichment activities. Breakfast time helps pupils feel settled, included, and ready for the school day ahead." Enrichment and wider learning activities increases pupils skills, engagement and participation in school which can improve their life chances and future employment opportunities. 💪

Young people tell us clearly that breakfast is about more than food. It’s about energy, confidence, connection, and feeling ready to face the day. 🚀 Young people who have breakfast are healthier and happier. They build stronger relationships and get better academic results. So when they go out into the world, it’s with confidence and curiosity. We want to see stronger, sustained breakfast provision in all secondary schools, so no teenager is left behind. 🧡 Support our campaign and find out more on our website. bit.ly/440yokG #MoreThanBreakfast #SchoolBreakfasts #NourishingFutures
