Your iron sights aren’t making you a better cop. They’re making your instructor’s job easier.
There’s a difference between teaching what’s familiar and teaching what actually improves performance.
If a red dot allows an officer to make better hits with less visual complexity, then “we’ve always taught irons” isn’t a training philosophy. It’s an excuse.
And if the only argument against changing the training is that the old way is easier to teach, maybe the problem isn’t the equipment.
Maybe it’s the instructor.

Not going to lie, when I got this email I assumed this was new marketing lingo along the lines of "Grip-Zone" based on SIG's "throw it at the wall" approach. The fact that it's just a spelling error was a secondary assumption which says a lot but is also somehow on brand.
I just want to say that if you have been following @tjmorris_bear for any amount of time or even my own channel over the years, a lot of what's being "reported on" right now is OLD NEWS.

So the Jordan Salinas interview with @GarandThumb1 was really interesting and encouraging. It was valuable insight from a regular guy being put into a terrible situation. I don't believe I have that same level of bravery but I was encouraged to be a better shooter after hearing about his experience.
The takeaway for me was, train more, improve your skills (shooting, first aid, situational awareness, etc) and remain humble. Proud of that guy and everyone else involved with saving lives that day.

So the @BravoCompanyUSA RECCE-16 has taken the role of "SPR" apparently. Which I do like. Running the @VortexOptics Razor LHT 2-10x which I got a custom turret for. Want to try it out at distance. But hey, I got a couple hits at 200yds on a 6" gong and easy hits on a steel IPSC.
