Throwback Tuesday: A Letter to Myself Mag, it hasn't been easy, has it? We've been through some really rough and crazy times, and lots of heartache...and backache, from the looks of this photo. But you know what? We've always given our best to the things we've set our heart on - no matter how trivial or tedious the task - and we've never given up. Because that's who we are, who we've always been. Passionate. Driven. Hardworking. Loyal and dedicated to the people we lead and follow. Hufflepuff for life, right? Started working young, before college even. Began as a runner backstage doing anything and everything, and worked our way up to a stage manager, still scrubbing fake blood off the floors on our hands and knees at 11pm with our crew, even though we didn't need to, because that's being part of a team, of a family. Working 14h days, 7d a week for over a decade, and in that same time, we earned a scholarship, graduated with a BA (Hons) in Technical Theatre, followed by an MSc in Creative Writing after years of saving up - and from the University of Edinburgh no less, situated in the UNESCO City of Literature. Gosh, that was expensive. Gosh, that degree was hard. Gosh, were we tired. Exhausted. Depleted. But hey, we pulled ourselves away from the verge of giving up and we made it. Mag, I know you and you know me. No one can take that girl from us. She might no longer be scrubbing floors, but she's still as passionate, driven, hardworking, loyal and dedicated as ever to leaving handprints on people's hearts. 🐬

I've since re-read this a few times and I've noticed that all the children were named, whereas the adults were left nameless...
My new podcast episode is out! 🎙️ This one has some horror in it and I took a while to process my own thoughts after reading it raw. youtube.com/watch?v=7yuZq7X8…

"The feelings that hurt most, the emotions that sting most, are those that are absurd - The longing for impossible things, precisely because they are impossible; nostalgia for what never was; the desire for what could have been; regret over not being someone else; dissatisfaction with the world’s existence. All these half-tones of the soul’s consciousness create in us a painful landscape, an eternal sunset of what we are." ~ Fernando Pessoa #WhereWindsMeet

Sometimes, taking a break means meeting an old friend you haven't seen in a year and splurging on a quiet three-course meal with a view.

Crying isn't a sign of weakness; it's vulnerability at its finest. And to be vulnerable is to be human. So allow yourself to cry and heal. Don't let the fear of what others might think turn you into something other than human. 🫶

Grim has limited vision, is legally blind and has to use a speech-to-text bot, so this comment is even more touching. For someone who loves to read and has gradually lost their sight over the years, listening to podcasts and audiobooks is the only way he can escape into stories. I appreciate him so much. ❤️
Probably should not have done this podcast while all fluey and on vocal rest, but the title caught my eye, so I started recording. 🎙️ Trying to come up with three character voices in the span of a 10min raw read was a challenge, but it was fun! 😆 youtube.com/watch?v=9U_1_itB…

Fellow podcasters and voice artists, if you need to continue recording while under the weather, or if your throat is feeling tired and scratchy, I highly recommend this. Have used it for years. It has the consistency of honey but way more effective. You can have it as is, but I prefer to mix it with hot water and sip it slowly like tea. Either way, it works wonders.

You never know how the words of a story, when read aloud, can touch and move people. Blessed to be part of this sharing session in my little gaming guild. This is why I started doing short fiction podcasts.💙

Returning to X after being away for more than a year. Faced a lot of challenges that pushed me to my limits, but also helped me grow. 🌱 And now I've finally embarked on something I've always wanted to do. Released my first podcast on YouTube yesterday! 🎙️ youtube.com/watch?v=UZ6ulbck…

Mum turns 65 today. 30 years ago, she gave up her teaching career to stay home for me, and later on, my younger brother. Growing up, I remember how she was an avid reader and used to review books first before letting us read them. Jane Austen, C.S. Lewis, Roald Dahl, J.K. Rowling... Mum was the first to introduce me to all of them and more. It's from her that I get my love of stories, and I wouldn't be half the writer I am today had she not also been my English teacher. Blessed Birthday, Mum! I love you! ❤️
