More great cobwebs in this foundry/machine shop that closed in 1965 - a sink in the foundry metal casting area. Because of its complete collection of machinery and tools, this shop earned the status of a National Historic Landmark in 2017. A foundation purchased it in 2009.

It's a little unsettling walking into a dark room of an abandoned dinner theater and seeing the silhouettes of two figures against a wall. Fortunately, the figures weren't alive; they were only creepy moldy mannequins, and why not another quirky and unexpected discovery?

I visited this beautiful mansion on a rainy, miserable day (the best weather for exploring, BTW). Today, the windows/doors are boarded. The mansion is rooted in 1743 when 1152 acres of land were purchased from King George II & a 4-room wooden house soon appeared on the property.

Abandoned Home. I hope that a viewer of my images understands why I do what I do and embraces the melancholy I carry with me as I photograph a derelict home. In my eyes, abandoned homes often appear gripped by loneliness. I sense the grief of lost dreams.
