Many of us have parents, grandparents and great-grandparents who survived or perished in Nazi death marches and we have all grown up in the shadow of the Nazi holocaust.
The state of Israel is currently perpetrating a holocaust, the deliberate mass slaughter of Palestinian people, with weapons provided by the US.

Giving tzedakah is a powerful, and traditional Jewishway to honor the dead. We invite you to give generously today to the Palestine Emergency Fund.
This High Holidays we invite you to step into the act of repair by helping us raise $18,000 for the Palestine Emergency Fund. Through all of you and the members of the 73 communities in our Open Communities Directory we can honor the dead thru Tzedakah.

anti-Zionist Jews in the diaspora need to be strong both physically and mentally.
Not because we are afraid like the Zionists who insist the holy land is the only place we are safe but because it is our responsibility to end Zionism.
You cannot beat strength with weakness.

In the past hours, Israel has bombed Lebanon, killing at least 274 people and wounding over 1,000.
These attacks mark a drastic escalation, but they also continue patterns of violence Israel has established in the past year.
A short🧵of recent JC pieces that illuminate this:

The UK’s abstention from the vote to end Israel’s illegal occupation shows total disregard for Palestinians’ inalienable rights.
This abject failure to advance justice in Palestine is all the more shameful given the UK’s historic responsibility as an imperial power in the region

Had the terrorist attack witnessed in Lebanon in the past 48hrs occurred in Europe, western media would be following victims, telling the story of a boy who lost an eye, a girl who lost her life... but these are only brown people, so they celebrate Israel's ingenuity. Repulsive.

Netanyahu’s right-wing, extremist government is violating international & US law and has created a humanitarian disaster in Gaza.
Today, I announced that I will file Joint Resolutions of Disapproval to stop the sale of U.S. arms to Israel and end our complicity in this disaster.

Our government’s cowardly failure to call out this latest war crime is shameful.
There is only one reasonable response: end all arms sales to Israel, now.

The Chief Rabbi demeans his own office by consistently encouraging the UK government to ignore its legal and ethical obligations - in this case, advocating for Britain to supply lethal weapons in a genocidal war. 1/2
It beggars belief that the British government, a close strategic ally of Israel, has announced a partial suspension of arms licences, at a time when Israel is fighting a war for its very survival on seven fronts forced upon it on the 7th October, and at the very moment when six hostages murdered in cold blood by cruel terrorists were being buried by their families. As Israel faces down the threat of Iran and its proxies, not just to its own people, but to all of us in the democratic west; this announcement feeds the falsehood that Israel is in breach of International Humanitarian Law, when in fact it is going to extraordinary lengths to uphold it. Sadly, this announcement will serve to encourage our shared enemies. It will not help to secure the release of the remaining 101 hostages, nor contribute to the peaceful future we wish and pray for, for all people in the region and beyond.
Britain and Israel have so much to gain by standing together against our common enemies for the sake of a safer world. Surely that must be the way forward.
I agree with @Natasha_Walter whole-heartedly.
