The Falguni Pathak event at Jio World Convention Centre is a total hotchpotch. Those who live in Mumbai know what I’m talking about.
We were 25 people who went on Friday to celebrate my mom’s birthday , We are all Hardcore Garba Players. Passes cost around ₹3,500 each, yet we arrived an hour before Falguni started and couldn’t find even a small place to play.
Groups had arrived 3 hours early and blocked spaces. The worst part? For every 10 people playing, 15 more were guarding their circle. Even after requesting almost everyone, no one moved an inch.
The real issue isn’t these people. It’s the companies selling these passes — TribeVibe and BookMyShow.
When we complained to Jio officials, they said they were fed up with managing the crowd. Yet, even when the venue was jam-packed, passes were still being sold!
There has to be some humanity. The crowd was so much that even areas near the bathrooms were packed with people playing.
This isn’t just my observation. Countless people are facing the same situation.
I hope this reaches Falguni Pathak, Jio, TribeVibe and BookMyShow and they plan a better navratri next year.

Last year, we ran a small pilot. Returns were decent. But when we dug into the numbers, the truth was hard to ignore.
Kids outgrow clothes in months. And no parent wants to spend good money on an outfit their child will wear exactly once.
So we shut the category down during the pilot itself. Better to learn cheap than scale a mistake.
Today I saw a video of girls returning their garba outfits to ecommerce platforms after wearing them through the nights.
Wear it. Click photos. Return it.
That's the reality of building a consumer brand in India. You're not just fighting competitors. You're fighting a mindset where use-and-return feels normal.
Some categories look huge on paper and still don't work. Knowing when to walk away is also a founder's job. 🤷🏻♂️
