If the leader of the Scottish Labour Party doesn’t know that councillors can’t work for the council they get elected to then we have a big big problem of basic competence in the guy who wants to be FM.

Cannot beat an Irish election, sitting watching count 7 come up and trying to work out if Labour voters 5th preferences will be enough to get some independent into 4th place in a 3 seater with 4 more rounds to go while knowing you know bugger all about any of it.
I’ve said this before but I am always amazed that Irish media report the ballot box samples from election counts as hard info open to the public, over here it’s prized info you keep under lock and key!
Watching the RTÉ exit poll stuff, the transfer rates between FG & FF are unreal, each are picking up about a third of the others 2nd prefs. Unheard of.

Louise Haigh has been a top tier Labour frontbencher, she was a really good shadow and was the best cabinet minister they have IMO. If this stuff has come from her own side it’s total self immolation.
