This weekend, finally had a chance to read my friend David Crow's memoir about growing up amid violence, turmoil, crime and poverty, The Pale-Faced Lie. Great job @author_crow! Highly recommend. ***** amazon.com/dp/0997487151/
I have been told my novels paint a rosy picture of how things really were. Too much hope and trust. Friendship can overcome a lot of societal norms and that is what drives my characters. Check out the Ghosts of Gumbo Flats and decide for yourself. a.co/d/7cUFFRv

At this point, this is an SEC nightmare. The narratives are being proven wrong and the nation just witnessed an officiating gift for Texas that didn't pay off.
Every college football fan saw this and if you're not an SEC zombie, you know exactly what took place.
The months after releasing Jawbone Holler have been exciting. My sequel, The Ghosts of Gumbo Flats, is nearing completion. Another little novel, a Depression-era crime thriller titled West Bottoms is currently available on Kindle. Looking forward to 2025. macethornton.com/

Congress must NOT turn its back on farm families. They need to pass economic assistance before the end of the year.
Agriculture has had enough.
It’s not farmers’ and ranchers’ fault that Congress failed to pass a new farm bill to meet the challenges agriculture is facing today.
And farmers and ranchers shouldn’t be political pawns.
Congress must act and give agriculture the certainty that’s needed.
