Our new library space at the Middlesex Jail & House of Correction is looking great! We're grateful for the help of Valerie Diggs, who teaches Library Media Studies at Salem State University. She worked with Officer Joe Donlon on how to best label, catalog & inventory our books.

During #FraudAwarenessWeek, we are continuing to shine a spotlight on scams in which perpetrators pose as members of law enforcement. Remember, officers and deputies will never demand you pay fines or fees with cryptocurrency or gift cards. Please check out our new PSA.

Few days are better than graduation days and this was a great one as we celebrated the members of the 49th Basic Training Academy. Thank you to @MelrosePolice Chief Kevin Faller for his inspirational words and @MelroseMemHall for hosting us once again.

🚨Scam alert🚨
A local resident has reported receiving a call from an individual claiming to be from our office. The caller told the resident he had failed to submit a required DNA sample. Please be advised the MSO does not collect DNA samples from members of the general public.

As you go about your day today, please remember the sacrifice made by Woburn Police Officer John B. “Jack” Maguire who was shot and killed in the line of duty 12 years ago tonight responding to an armed robbery. Please hold the Maguire family and the WPD in your thoughts.

Our job in corrections is to care for those in our custody. That means we must take best practices from public health & adapt them to public safety. Appreciate the @WSJ for highlighting how the MSO has innovated to address SUD in the population we serve. wsj.com/articles/drugs-treat…
Thank you for your many years of service, Chief. I appreciate all that you have done to assist me and the residents of Ward 5. It’s been an absolute honor working with you.
Enjoy a very well-deserved retirement, my friend.
