Man's intellect and will are explained away as physical properties. Yet without an intellect and will, appeals to an essential human dignity quickly collapse. We are all just a bunch of colliding atoms in a universe of colliding atoms.
Looks like the White House has handed the Horn of Africa file to Boulos but managed by the ambassador.
As such anyone genuinely expecting the TPF interim government in Tigray to last only six months is on a long thing.
The Pretoria Agreement is dead for all intents and purposes
Ambassador Massinga sat down with The Reporter to discuss the ongoing situation in northern Ethiopia. He underscored that now is the time for Tigray to move ahead with the principles of the Pretoria agreement, including democracy, return of IDPs, restoration of administration, DDR, and humanitarian access. The Ambassador reiterated the United States’ commitment to lasting peace and stability in Ethiopia, the bedrock for economic development and which allows all people to forge their own destinies. Although this is a long shot, but a continuation of export controls/protectionism on this scale is likely going to constitute the first major stress test for BRICS, and on the medium term, a key dispute that could rival some of the rounds that the WTO has had to deal with.
India might be the focus of China's new export controls on construction machinery.
India is not called out explicitly, but China is now prohibiting certain machinery to "sensitive countries and regions that have disputes with China" 与中国存在争议的敏感国家和地区.
These include:
- Tunnel-boring machines, which China has appeared to limit to India in the past
- High-altitude concrete spraying machines (above 3,000 m altitude), which might be about military construction in the Himalayas
As far back as 2010 when Patrick Karegeya was nerfed in South Africa despite intel from the Hawks, it was known that Kagame’s avengers could get someone in far away Sweden.
What made this guy think he’s safer in the neighbourhood— in the home of M7 who is Kagame’s mentor?

Quite a profound shift in tone and language from a few months ago, and Asmara smartly played it by resetting ties with Washington just before the TPLF/OLF etc alliance.
The central messaging here is Washington is waiting for a worsening situation in order to mediate.

Happy birthday to one of my foremost Epa. The grand commander himself, the emperor of the Unholy Roman Empire and a Culer😒 @MacHarryCI
How this behaviour (crass, abrasive, crude and totally unprofessional) became mainstream government communication is indicative of the rot that has permeated the logic of government and historians will be studying how this was allowed to happen and fester for so long.
Nobody is talking about how shrinkflation has engulfed the eye drop industry. Growing up, drops used to be in bigger bottles, now they’d give you a something smaller than your pinky finger for an exorbitant price.
Cannot be spending 5k on Olopatidine every week. It’s not fair.
Nah… it’s a travesty that Theo James is not the next James Bond.
Just saw a still from The Gentlemen that looks absolutely like a Bond scene.
I didn’t name my Substack “21st Century Melos” in January for you to credit Greek revival to the Odeshi and or belated talks on the Peloponnesian War. 😒

This day is profoundly painful for so many New Yorkers. It marks three years since the horrific war crimes of October 7. On that day, Hamas killed more than 1,100 Israelis and abducted 251 others. We grieve alongside our many friends and neighbors who still carry that unthinkable loss.
The suffering did not begin nor end that day. It instead continued through the Israeli government’s devastating, ongoing genocide in Gaza, in which it has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians—including more than 21,000 children. Even since the so-called ceasefire, more than 1,400 Palestinians have been killed. That suffering has intensified with every Israeli bomb dropped on ambulances waiting outside hospitals, every drone strike targeting a residential building or journalist, and every shipment of food aid turned away at a border crossing. Many New Yorkers are reckoning with this unbearable grief, and we mourn alongside them – all while knowing that our tax dollars fund these war crimes.
Three years later, we must refuse to accept a world in which occupation and apartheid continue, where war crimes are met with impunity, and our federal government continues its complicity with every arms shipment.
To honor the dead, we must fight for a world in which every person can live with freedom, safety, and dignity.
Pedrito!!! 🥹🥹 Thank you for the Pep years!
